Fresh off the heels of the amazing “Wounder Warrior Project” custom LeBron 9s, Mache Customs hits us with yet another LBJ custom paying homage to Batman – otherwise known as The Dark Knight. Using the ‘Cool Grey’ as the base, Mache Customs displays his broadened artistic scope with the overlaying colors creating a sick 3D-like effect, as the upper design was set to mimic the sharp folds of Batman’s cape. Finishing off the custom is the Batman symbol on the medial heels of the shoe, with the Mache insignia sharing the spotlight on the right shoe. Need these in your collection? Mache is taking orders for the LeBron 9 TDK (with a 3 month waiting list), so hit up Mache Customs asap if you’re interested.

Mache’s stock is continues its steady climb as we get a look at his latest custom work made for the Wounded Warrior Project, a charitable organization developed to honor and empower those wounded in the line of duty. Mache was commissioned directly by the Wounded Warrior Project to make a pair of custom LeBron 9s inspired by a warhawk-style plane, as seen here by the sharks-teeth at the toe and the rivets that fasten the metal sheets in place. This project was close to Mache’s heart as his own father was a Wounded Warrior, but the sheer effort and artistry put into this custom work shows that Mache gave his most inspired effort to complete this custom. The Nike LeBron 9 ‘Wounder Warrior Project’ will be a one-of-one custom and will only be available at the Rhode Island Sneaker Xchange on September 2nd, where the shoes will be raffled off. A certain treat for fans of the LeBron, of Mache’s work, and members of the U.S. Armed Forces, so check out the gallery below and let us know where these rank among Mache Customs‘ best work.

Sneaker customizer Mache Customs has created quite the comfortable niche in the LeBron 9 sector with his DIY concepts, and he keeps the excitement around LeBron’s Championship going with this latest ‘MVP’ custom. Using the LeBron 9 Elite as the base, he combines the LeBron 9 ‘MVP’ red/black gradient fade upper, but pairs it with his own selection of Gold Leaf for an insane one-two combo that combines LeBron’s MVP campaign and NBA Finals Championship in one fell swoop. He also adds the ‘MVP’ touch with the lettering on the medial heel of the shoe as well. Do you like these better than his ‘Finals PE’ Elite customs or even the MVP version that Nike intended to release this month? Check out the gallery below and if you want your own Mache joints done, hit him up sooner than later because the waiting list is getting longer and longer!

Supreme perfected the “transplant” of the Air Jordan III with its duet of SB Dunk Lows for its 2002 collaboration with Nike SB. In fact, you can credit Supreme for bringing the “dream colorway” concept to life, because the majority of the custom sneakers (and even official releases) we see today circle around the idea of bringing a favorite edition of one shoe onto another. Mache Customs has proven himself to be one of the top dogs in that sector, and he revisits Supreme’s 2002 SB Dunks with a set of Air Max 1s featuring elephant print on the mudguard to mimic Supreme’s SB Dunk classics. More individual shots of Mache’s project below, so take a look and let us know what you think.

The last of the Air Flightposite series is the Nike Air Flightposite III, and it might as well be renamed as the “Forgottenposite”; this classic design from the famed Alpha Project has yet to be re-released, although a rare spotting during the 2012 All-Star Weekend on the feet of Flightposite ambassador Allan Houston could hint at a possible return (and considering the Flightposite 1 and II made a come-back, a III wouldn’t be much of a surprise). Like the previous two Posite installments, the Air Flightposite III is noted for one major design feature, and for the III it’s clearly the alien-esque bug-eye pods on the upper that act as lockdown tiers for the upper strap and lower harness. To Mache Customs, the funky-lookin’ protrusions always reminded him of Spiderman’s eyes, so he took this pristine pair of the Flightposite III and gave it a radioactive treatment by coloring it with reds and blues and adding the web-like graphic on the toe. Would you like to see a Retro of the Nike Air Flightposite III? More of Mache Customs‘ latest below, so flip through the gallery and let us know what you think.

How do you know LeBron James is the most (unfairly) scrutinized athlete we’ve ever seen? Dude follows up superhuman performances in games 5 and 6 of the Pacers series (Back to the wall in each of them) with 30 and 9 in a Finals Game 1 where his former Finals MVP and Heat Captain Dwyane Wade shoots just 7-19, yet 75% of the coverage is asking why didn’t King James just score 40? The weight of the world is on LeBron’s shoulders right now, and it takes a shoe like the Nike LeBron 9 Elite to support that immense responsibility. His red-uppered Game 1 PE is an intense reminder that the NBA’s championship series is a crucible in which only the truly special survive, and now even if Nike Basketball seems to be holding back new releases until the playoffs are complete, the latest color-swap from Mache Custom Kicks means you can get in on the player exclusive colorway even if it never releases. Mache says he’ll only be doing about six or so pairs of these, so check them out in greater detial below and let us know how these compare to his vast and still growing library of color-swap customs.

The infamous ‘Bordeaux’ colorway as made famous by the Air Jordan VII is of course making its way onto the latest hybrid creation the Jordan Son of Mars later this year, but you’ve probably pondered at one time or another how the combo would work if ported over to another entry into the Air Jordan legacy series. Wonder no more, as sneaker customizer extraordinaire Mache has the answer, dialing the numbers back a few notches and building upon the Air Jordan V ‘Wolf Grey’ for the base. From there he turns the lights out, striping sections with some heavy black and then placing the namesake wine color on the rear. Never one to skimp on the details, Mache also made sure the tongues were consistent, creating a cool take on the angular design from the Air Jordan VII’s squishy tongue. Hit the jump with us to take a look at the Air Jordan V ‘Bordeaux’ customs (two pairs in existence, one for Mache and one for Nuggets baller Wilson Chandler) and let us know if you think the transfer is a success.

When will the South Beach/Miami vibe run out of steam? With the quick sell-out of the Floridians low and June 2nd’s South Beach Elite poised to be one of the best releases of the year, it looks like ‘South Beach‘ and all of its tangential colorways are staying put. Mache Customs put that idea to the test as he combined all three ‘Miami’ inspired LeBrons into this custom, as he used the LeBron 9 Low ‘Floridians’ as the base, the ‘Flamingo’ confetti on the rear, and the ‘South Beach’ at the forefoot of the shoe. Another unique touch is the alternating Swoosh colors – White with pink border on the lateral (Floridians) and Black on the medial (South Beach). Yet another custom banger from one of the best in the game, so check out the additional shots of the ‘Bringing Sand To The Beach’ Customs below and let us know what you think!
