Thanks to your help, an overwhelming crop of worthy candidates has been narrowed down to the final 32 and we are now ready to kick off our Sneaker News March Madness Non-OG Air Jordan Tournament. If you haven’t been following, this year, our annual march sneaker tourney will feature a battle of the all-time greatest non-original Air Jordan colorways, and as you can see, there is some serious competition here and plenty of room for upsets and Cinderella runs along the way. We’re sure that not everyone will agree with the seedings, but you will have plenty of opportunity to prove us wrong in the voting. Also, you might have noticed the omission of the Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’, which was no accident. Due to the dominance of the Air Jordan XI winning our first two march madness tournaments, we sent the Space Jams straight to the sneaker Hall of Fame and let them sit this one out to open up the field for some new blood. (Feel free to spread the word when countless ‘Where’s the Space Jams?‘ comments come forth despite the clarification) You can get a closer look at the brackets over on Sneaker News HD, and stay tuned later tonight for the tip-off of Round 1 voting.

Teams like the Kemba Walker-led UConn Huskies have ridden a surging wave, while others like the VCU Rams have stunned the world and crippled brackets nationwide with an unlikely Final Four berth. Sneaker News has been keeping you on top of all the sneakers that have touched the hardwood this NCAA postseason, with shoes like the Air Jordan 2011 UNC PE, Air Foamposite One ‘Metallic Pewter’, and all the sick Jordan Retros worn by the SDSU Aztecs giving us more than we can handle. Here’s a look at the Elite Eight teams and their kicks; Kentucky players have been consistently rocking the Air Jordan Six Rings ‘Royal’, the Arizona Wildcats have their fair share of heat, and the lone adidas school of the round – the Kansas Jayhawks – have had their collection of PE colorways. NCAA Basketball is always packed with intensity and last-second heroics (did any of you watch Kemba Walker seal the deal against Pitt at the buzzer?). The argument can be made that college ball is more fun to watch than the pros, and the March Madness Tournament is the Ace of that debate. Here’s a look at the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Low March Madness Pack; it features the sweet basketball net graphic on the heel panel similar to the one seen in the eight colorways of the Nike Air Max Fly By March Madness Pack we showed you not long ago. House of Hoops has these in stock now so check out the detailed images below and don’t sleep on a pair!
