The Missoni x Converse Auckland Racer is back, and this time the sneaker is flexing a bit more in terms of the blocking options. The two new pairs that we’ve spotted both have a busier look than that brown version that got the model going. Previewed exclusively during the Missoni Fall/Winter 2013 runway show was this Converse Jack Purcell designed with the trademark Missoni zig-zag print. Using the classic Jack Purcell as the base, this Fall/Winter 2013 release features white and several tones of grey intertwined in the iconic print. The overall designed is inspired by the entire F/W ’13 collection and should release later this year. The Missoni x Converse teamup keeps on rolling, with the long awaited arrival of the Converse Auckland Racer pictured here apparently right around the corner. The racer and the already released Missoni crafted Converse Chuck Taylor Hi featuring the triangle quilt make up the Holiday 2012 offerings, keeping your feet plenty warm with their woolen looks. The ever-growing partnership between Missoni and Converse has culminated in an outstanding Archive Project, but the buck doesn’t stop there; dropping this Holiday season is another Chuck Taylor masterpiece designed with Missoni’s triangular patch quilt design. Added tan leather foxing around the midsole and toe adds a level of unforeseen luxury (a nod to the Offspring collabs of years back), while the green interior throws in a piece of casual style. Australian retailer UpThereStore will be releasing these midnight on September 29th (local time to Australia) so watch out for these at the most select Converse First String retailers and enjoy the gallery below.

Italian knitwear masters Missoni are among the most distinguished Chuck Taylor collaborators in recent memory, both in terms of the brand’s own stature and with regard to the quickness of their sales. They also unveiled a couple of Auckland Racers earlier this summer, and it turns out those only scratch the surface. Launching this Friday, September 28th at Parisian fashion mainstay colette is the Missoni x Converse Archive Project, a group of 20 pairs (split between the Converse Pro Leather and the aforementioned Racer), with each one of a kind design a using a separate ‘deadstock’ fabric from the Missoni archive. This upcoming Spring/Summer 2013 season, Missoni goes deeper into the Converse catalog and grabs a hold of the Converse Auckland Racer and reimagines the low-pro running shoe in signature style. Using the multi-stitch fabric from the upcoming Men’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection, Missoni will feature two of these Aucklands in a multi-colored composition and a second in a grey-scale approach. Another look at this upcoming Missoni for Converse effort is just ahead, so give them a look and let us know if you these are better than the darker January 2012 release from earlier this year.

The premium-grade Converse Auckland Racer was possibly one of the most underrated sneakers over the last year. The first Missoni collaboration followed by the grey and beige soft-sueded joints of February were absolute hits, and fortunately for Converse fans worldwide the Missoni x Converse Auckland Racer will continue its run in 2013 with these two all-new colorways. The designs are inspired by Missoni’s upcoming Men’s collection in the iconic multi-stitch fabric (both multi-colored and grey-scale builds), and is set for a release during the Spring/Summer 2013 season. Arriving this Saturday, April 14th at select Converse retailers is the Missoni for Converse Chuck Taylor All Star for the Spring/Summer season. The fifth overall collection of Missoni x Converse is comprised of three seasonal colorways – one unisex release (blue) and two for women (both featuring the signature zig-zag chevron pattern). All three releases will retail for $200 and will be available in limited quantity at Missoni stores, Jeffrey’s, Fred Segal, and Aloha Rag locations in NYC and Honolulu.
