The NBA is overflowing with both explosive talent and serious sneakerheads, but Nate Robinson stands out as the only three-time Slam Dunk Contest winners with a diverse and attention-grabbing sneaker rotation to match his high wire act. Kryptonate has shown up in too many notable styles to mention here, and his latest offseason appearance is the shoe that’d probably beat them all if we polled a Best of 2012 list today. Nate’s ’Pure Platinum’ Nike Air Yeezy 2s already have the toe wrinkles to prove they’ve been well-worn (plus a ‘Solar Red’ second course waiting on the sidelines), and here we see proof that Kanye West’s second Nike Sportswear collaboration can handle the hardwood (or asphalt, as the case may be) just as well as a concert stage. Click through to see the video in full (fast forward about halfway to get straight to the dunks) and let us know how these compare to some of the other atypical Yeezy 2 sightings we’ve observed since the June launch.

Our mid-week coverage of NBA Feet continues with this nice collection of sneaker sightings from the games of the last two nights. Some of Monday’s highlights included the ‘twinsies’ of the Air Jordan XIII ‘Playoffs’, worn by Nate Robinson and Monta Ellis, followed by the Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ once again by Rockets guard Courtney Lee. Delonte West of the Dallas Mavericks wore the Nike Air Penny III HoH Exclusive in the rip-stop material, but the best Air Penny sighting of the last two days was Earl Clarks’ Nike Air Max Penny 1. The first Nike Zoom Kobe VII iD kicks surfaced on the feet of Hakim Warrick and Amir Johnson (both opting for the ‘Attack Fast’ option). Rajon Rondo hosted a special charity basketball exhibition game at Harvard University this past Saturday, bringing together a number of Boston Celtics players that were members of the 2008 Championship team. Rondo was joined by teammates Paul Pierce, Marquis Daniels, and Jeff Green as well as former Celtics Nate Robinson, Kendrick Perkins, and Leon Powe. During the Charity Game, a few notable sneakers were spotted on court, like Nate Robinson’s Black/Cement III, Rajon Rondo’s Hyperfuse 2011, Powe’s Jordan 6-17-23, and one of the more infrequent Feet sightings – the Air Jordan VII ‘Flint’ (a 2006 release). Check out the extra shots below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more NBA Lockout Feet action! via thecrimson.

Kryptonate and Superman? For one night, the two opposing forces took the night off as Nate Robinson rocked the Superman-inspired Air Jordan IV ‘Doernbecher’ during the Rip City Basketball Classic Charity Game. The event, arranged and hosted by Portland Trail Blazers’ forward LaMarcus Aldridge, is just the latest in the ‘unofficial season’ of exhibition games, which have been featuring the league’s biggest stars and fan draws. The Air Jordan IV ‘Doernbecher’ instantly sold out online and at retail spots that carried them, but it appears ‘ol boy Nate was able to secure himself a pair. Did you miss out on yours? Check out the images (courtesy of oregonlive) of Kryptonate in unison with Superman, and see what’s available now on eBay.

Nate Robinson‘s been at the forefront of the NBA sneaker-game ever since he entered the league in 2005 as a late first-round pick from the Knicks (via the Suns). Nate’s been known to wear some heat during his college days, but his sneaker-fame in the NBA is solely due to his rising up the ranks – literally – by dunking over anyone with a pulse and capturing the hearts of the undersized around the globe. During his time with the Knicks and the Celtics, Nate Robinson has gone against the team-sneaker trend and has worn some notable kicks like the Zoom LeBron IV ‘Birthday’, the Altitude XIII (long before the 2010 version was even confirmed), and a number of other Jordan Retros, but in this latest twitter video, Nate Robinson sheds light on one of his favorite sneakers – the Nike Air Max 1. He’s gotten positively iD crazy because his sneaker closet is filled with Nike Air Max 1 iDs, so check out his collection video after the jump and let us know which colorway stands out the most!
