Stateside it seems that J.Crew is the only group that’s allowed to put their hands on the New Balance 1400. Elsewhere though the NB team has been a bit more liberal with the model. INVINCIBLE for instance got their own SMU, electing to use the opportunity to give the sneaker a remixed brogue shoe styling. Those holes across the upper aren’t the only little details that you should be paying attention to though-equally exciting is the smooth leather inside. Hit the jump for a full gallery on the INVINCIBLE x New Balance 1400 and watch for them at INVINCIBLE on May 18th, with a global release going down in June.

If the Cole Haan/Nike stuff isn’t sneaker-y enough for your tastes then try this, the INVINCIBLE x New Balance 1400 “Brogue”. The pair puts on a more dress shoe look on the upper while keeping the classic New Balance 1400 silhouette intact. It doesn’t appear to be of the Made in USA persuasion, something we’ve been spoiled by thanks to the nonstop J.Crew collabs, but the premium details are still there what with the navy suede and the beautiful tan leather lining. Check out some extra angles on the INVINCIBLE x New Balance 1400 “Brogue” below and watch for them soon at spots like Titolo.

Navy New Balances represent the one of the sneaker world’s timeless looks, so it’s particularly interesting to see combined with a signature element from an even older footwear tradition. The INVINCIBLE x New Balance 1400 ‘Brogue’ combines the perforated detailing from long-established hard-bottomed shoes, this particular style itself landing somewhere in the ‘smart casual’ range. These details along with the leather laces and lining convey a premium appeal that looks like it might follow the spring’s similar Beauty & Youth 1700 to US retail. The May 18th debut at INVINCIBLE is set with a wider release to follow in June, so have a closer look below and stick with Sneaker News for updates.

J.Crew is continuing to covertly sneak in extra colorways for the couple of New Balance silhouettes that they’ve locked down for their ongoing collaboration. The latest of which is yet another New Balance 1400, this one sticking to the same suede formula that you know and love from the collection and putting on a chambray blue look. The color used isn’t too off from the ‘Evergreen’ that was also added fairly recently, but it’s worth mentioning that these bring back the all important reflective 3M N on the side. Continue reading to get all the angles and pick up the J.Crew x New Balance 1400 collection here right now if you like what you see.

Aside from their popular white leather styles affectionately known as ‘dad shoe’ defaults, New Balance is best known for applying grey suede and mesh to their no-nonsense high-comfort runners. We see a shift to a different neutral tone on this quartet from NB Japan, and though its pack name might have you imagining the shared versatility of grey and beige, that name is actually a reference to a totally undyed and unbleached cloth. The New Balance ‘Greige’ collection brings together the familiar New Balance 574 with 1400s, ML71 trainers and H710 boots in a sandy brown whose tonal appeal is intended to reflect the raw yet refined untreated look that’s become so popular in a variety of design disciplines of late. Have a closer look after the jump, let us know what you think of this new neutral style and stick with Sneaker News to see if they ever make it stateside. via Espionage
