J.Crew is continuing to covertly sneak in extra colorways for the couple of New Balance silhouettes that they’ve locked down for their ongoing collaboration. The latest of which is yet another New Balance 1400, this one sticking to the same suede formula that you know and love from the collection and putting on a chambray blue look. The color used isn’t too off from the ‘Evergreen’ that was also added fairly recently, but it’s worth mentioning that these bring back the all important reflective 3M N on the side. New Balance “Greige Collection”

new balance greige collection 1 New Balance Greige Collection

Aside from their popular white leather styles affectionately known as ‘dad shoe’ defaults, New Balance is best known for applying grey suede and mesh to their no-nonsense high-comfort runners.  We see a shift to a different neutral tone on this quartet from NB Japan, and though its pack name might have you imagining the shared versatility of grey and beige, that name is actually a reference to a totally undyed and unbleached cloth.  The New Balance ‘Greige’ collection brings together the familiar New Balance 574 with 1400s, ML71 trainers and H710 boots in a sandy brown whose tonal appeal is intended to reflect the raw yet refined untreated look that’s become so popular in a variety of design disciplines of late.  Have a closer look after the jump, let us know what you think of this new neutral style and stick with Sneaker News to see if they ever make it stateside.  via Espionage

A couple of Japanese streetwear brands have applied Timberland-leaning ‘wheat’ suedes to New Balance classics in recent years, but the best of this rugged category might be coming up courtesy of NB’s New England factories.  The New Balance 1400 ’Made in USA’ is a shoe that excels in a just about any color you’d like to use on this simple suede build, and it just so happens that this golden brown edition is both supremely versatile and reflective of the shift from hot summer days to autumn cool.  Have a closer look at more photos after the jump, let us know how this all-suede style compares to the more breathable mesh-inlaid designs and stick with Sneaker News for release info.  via mita sneakers

Junya Watanabe’s recent sneaker collaborations have carried his own name, most notably a duo of Reebok Insta Pump Furys, the latter of which came to market with a matching RC car for one of the craziest ‘packs’ we’ve seen this year.  The next one comes in a completely different style, and instead of just Jun’s own name on the project, it’s the Comme des Garçons fashion label to which he’s contributed so many designs.  The eYe Comme des Garçons x New Balance 1400 is something like the opposite of the purple and pink polka-dotted Insta Pumps, a simple black suede number with grey stitching and accents that’d be a hit with classic running fans no matter the collaborator.  Check them out up close below and stick with Sneaker News to see if Jun Watanabe’s NB1400s ever make it to US retailers.  via hfundercov
