United Arrows’ Beauty & Youth puts out a fairly steady selection of sneaker collaborations, but most are fairly difficult to get here in the US. Take for instance the last Beauty & Youth x New Balance 1700, a design crafted in conjunction with Briefing that you’ll probably never be able to grab even with a hefty MSRP multiplier. That’s why this latest navy suede and mesh drop with peanut butter leather accents is such a rare treat, and you can see just how dope they look out in the real world courtesy of the shop that’ll have them bright and early this Saturday January 26th, Cincinnati’s Corporate.

United Arrows’ Beauty & Youth label started 2012 off with a collaboration with Briefing on the New Balance 1700, and it turned out so well, they came back alone for a second round. The latest Beauty & Youth CM1700s keep things simple and classy like the first edition, this time sticking to the other mainstay in NB’s established canon as grey suede and mesh give way to navy blue for the sequel. These go a step further, though, adding luxurious caramel leather down the middle for a tasty treat that hints at the ever-colorful footbeds we’ve come to expect from NB’s Japanese collabs. These are coming up with a February 2013 release date and available for pre-order now for customers within the Beauty & Youth shipping zone.

Thanks to the wider-than-ever sneakerhead audience and a renewed appreciation for the timeless nature of premium quality, New Balance has enjoyed an upsurge in both its reputation and dope new styles. Not only are we getting more themes and collabos than ever before, but the selection of models available represents a wider range than at any time in the brand’s history. This fresh New Balance CM1700 sticks with the time-tested all-over suede approach and opts for the letterman-like double-N embroidery that makes these stand out even though the overall package is quite subtle. Will they ever make it to US retailers? Stick with Sneaker News to find out if the latest colorway of this Japanese favorite makes it stateside, and check out some additional photos below in the meantime. Photos: mita sneakers

Japanese streetwear concern WHIZ LIMITED is a brand many US sneakerheads wouldn’t even know were it not for their New Balance collaborations, and after Whiz’ second NBs drop later this month, they’ll forever be linked with star cutouts. The WHIZ x mita x New Balance CM1700 will release at select AP retailers this Saturday, April 28th, but thanks to the glow-in-the-dark underlay that makes those cutouts into a reflection of the night sky, these are sure to have NB heads on this side of the planet jockeying for position on one of the few inevitable imports. Japanese streetwear designer Hiroaki Shitano’s Whiz Limited label is no stranger to New Balance collaborations, but this latest pair will most definitely help to reacquaint the market with what was once a long-lost silhouette. But with last summer’s Apricot and Violet pairs followed up by Beauty & Youth’s gorgeously simple collabo, the WHIZ LIMITED x mita sneakers x New Balance CM1700, this is a model with which todays’ New Bal fiends are rapidly reacclimating. Whiz’ take on this top-performing classic features their familiar star-toed motif, but its navy, white and red palette has these feeling more USA than CO.JP. A recent preview in Shoesmaster projects these as a late April release exclusively at mita and Lump in Tokyo, so click through to see more and let us know if you’ll make the effort to import a pair. via HB

United Arrows’ Beauty & Youth label has worked in concert with Vans quite a few times over the past several years, but now they’re branching out to get up with another US-born brand who’s known for their numerous Japanese collaborators. The Beauty & Youth x New Balance CM1700 brings in Japan’s Briefing luggage company to add two bags to the package, one that looks like a laptop case plus a fanny pack that makes you wonder if there’s enough ‘no nonsense’ in common between NB and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin to ever spark such a tag team. You won’t have to wrestle with your wardrobe to find a variety of suitable matches for these NB 1700s, though, because like many of the brand’s best loved classics, these are downright stunning in the go-to premium grey suede. B&Y adds a red lace to match the bags’ details, and the whole set should be available at United Arrows retail spots come January.
