Imagine this is like one of those word problems you spent so much time practicing for entrance exams and compute the following: New Balance’s 574 is one of the modern standards by which classic running sneakers are judged, while the 575 remains fairly obscure save a few key collaborative releases. The 576 is on par with the 574 in terms of both popularity and variety of styles available, so what should we expect from the 577? It might have been just another odd-numbered also-ran at one point, but ever since Perth’s HAL double-resurrected it for the ‘Day n Night’ pack, this 1989 classic has been building the kind of momentum that’s resulted in dope in-house designs like this plum New Balance M577PU. Have a closer look after the jump below, then grab yours at select NB retailers like SNS.

“Coming together with SneakersNStuff on this concept, it was important that we hit both of our styles.”
East coast streetwear afficionados recognize Aaron LaCrate as an OG, a longtime contributor to the scene whose Milkcrate Athletics label has been going strong for parts of three decades. LaCrate joined Sweeden’s SneakersNStuff for their fifth collaboration with New Balance and the result is a couple of pairs ranging from traditional to Easter egg-colorful. The SNS x Milkcrate Athletics x New Balance 577s bring you one each of the classic NB grey suede and one in a range of springy pastels, both of which stray from the classic formula to place perforated leather in the spots we’d typically expect mesh. Click thorugh to see both of them in detail along with a video showcasing the project, and grab yours straight from SNS in Stockholm and Malmo tomorrow with online availability to follow on Monday.

Highs and Lows once again exposed them to the light of ‘Day (N Night’) just under a year ago, and now we’re starting to see the New Balance 577 appear in new colorways more often. The latest releases were Made in England, their Union Jack’d tongues and overall premium quality clear indications that these were crafted at the Flimby Factory. Both manage to fit the classic NB vibe without reprising either the well-aged navy, grey or both, instead showing us two distinctly different ways to make this model a winner. One’s completely covered in ‘early 2012′ with a black suede/white accent/mint lining setup, while the other offers a steely blue that might actually represent the perfect medium between the above-referenced staples. Check them both out in greater detail after the jump and expect them at US retailers soon. via mita sneakers

Swedish shoe suppliers SneakersNStuff have authored several New Balance 577 collaborations, but here’s the first that brings along a second teammate to complete the task. The SNS x Milkcrate Athletics x New Balance 577 brings in Baltimore jack-of-all-trades Aaron LaCrate on a duo of mostly suede designs that range from classic NB to something more up LaCrate’s alley. The latter blends pink, yellow, green, blue and purple together in a way that lets you know spring’s here and you’ll find these available exclusively at SNS on March 24th with online availability to follow two days later.

It’s been overshadowed of late by its immediate predecessor, but just because 1988′s NB574 is getting a lot of shine this year, doesn’t mean the above pictured model can’t get in on the fun as well. The New Balance 577 looks to make its mark once cold weather returns for the latter half of the year with a ‘Farmers Market’ Pack whose colors and materials are as hearty and heartwarming as their inspiration would suggest. USDA Plant Hardiness Zones suggest most vegetables be planted in the mid to late spring in America, but you’ll find these popping up in the States sometime around September/October. NB has proven they have a knack for food-inspired sneaker designs; do these two take the cake, or would you have preferred something brigter like the various candy releases? Let us know as you click through to see more angles, and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via Provider

The most recent Sneaker News regarding upcoming New Balance 577s involved collaborations with Schuh and Jeff Staple, but that doesn’t mean you won’t see new in-house designs eminating from the Flimby Factory. Case in point: these four new NB577 colorways slated to hit retailers next month, each in its own different sweep of suede and mesh plus reflective accents. The red edition is likely the most eye-catching of the bunch, but that’s taking nothing from soft blue, navy and black pairs, the last of which is somewhat similar to an upcoming 1500 for its use of mint green hits. Check out the entire quartet in detailed images after the jump, then pre-order your pair today from End.

Jeff Staple collaborations perfectly exemplify the ‘quality, not quantity’ idiom. It’s not often we see Jeff Staple team up with a major sneaker brand, but when he does, the term ‘instant classic’ can be attributed. Jeff’s clothing brand ‘Staple’ is the exact opposite of a misnomer, and his famed ‘pigeon’ motif has resulted in some highly-coveted gems like the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Pigeon’ and a duet of New Balance 575s. Much to the satisfaction of sneakerheads worldwide, Staple will once again team up with New Balance – this time on the 577 model. Will it feature the Pigeon graphic once again, or will Staple divert into another direction? The salmon pink color seen here could indicate the return of the unofficial bird of NYC. Check out the teaser below and let us know what you think.

What better way for one of the United Kingdom’s largest footwear retailers to celebrate a major anniversary than to collaborate with the only major brand that maintains a factory in the area. The Schuh (not to be confused with Afew, the former Schuh-You) New Balance 577s apply premium suede to this Flimby Factory-constructed silhouette, a tonal brown edition feeling both more current and seasonally appropriate than the charcoal and blue edition that in turn takes on a more vintage feel. 480 pairs will be spread across the two palettes and available at Schuh stores across the UK around the middle of the month, so click through for more images and stick with Sneaker News for the exact release date.
