Sufficiently rare, it’s only shown up in recent years as part of a ‘Past, Present, Future’ classics-plus-updates trio, a New Balance old school runner once positioned as NB’s answer to Nike Air makes its return in that immortal suede and mesh combo. The New Balance 620 takes us back further than the 574s and 576s that’ve been everywhere over the past ten to fifteen years, way further back than the small ‘N’ models so popular for recent collaborations, and reminds us that New Bal teamed up with Vibram for the 620′s soles before ‘collabos’ and ‘sneakerheads’ even existed. The growing success of their classic running range in recent years has led New Balance to provide the sneaker buying public with a wider variety of their simple yet effective old school designs. The New Balance 620 ‘Past Present Future’ capsule borrows the idea Leftfoot and Streething used on their 574-centered collection last fall, this time utilizing a much more obscure 1970s release as the foundation for upgrades in construction (the sonically-welded MS620) and performance tech (the cutting edge ML620). Check out all three after the jump, let us know where the original ranks against the revisions and stick with Sneaker News for updates on this April 2012 release.
