It’s not a deliberate ‘pack’ in the same sense as something like the ‘Road to London’ set(s) or their upcoming Flimby 30th anniversary celebration, but New Balance is clearly working with a theme across multiple models in their mid-high number range. Having seen similar motifs applied to the 998 and 1300, and now we get the ‘Denim Blue’ style applied to a silo we can’t do without in this, its silver anniversary year. This New Balance M996DB treats us to tonal suede and mesh, which is all blue and relies on silver accents and a white midsole for a more traditional NB style than had they gone completely ‘dipped’. Both other ‘Denim Blue’ NBs have released here in the US in recent weeks, so stick with Sneaker News to find out if/when these arrive and check out some additional images in the meantime. New Balance has been increasingly generous with their classic lineup in recent months and it looks like we can expect that trend to continue courtesy of a few new ‘Made in USA’ drops slated for later this year. The New Balance 996 will return after having been resurrected by UNDFTD and Stussy last fall, and will be joined at retailers in late 2012 by 998s and 1300s also crafted at NB’s New England factories. Each of these pairs features a traditional mix of suede and mesh in muted tones for the kind of timeless appeal that draws sneakerheads toward their heritage catalog. Check them out up-close after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability. via HS

This three-way team up features some of the biggest names doing it in the streetwear world, and it looks like the stateside contingency managed a bit more pull with the color combo. The Lakers-looking colorway wouldn’t exactly be foreign to the likes of California based UNDFTD or Stussy, but we’re sure Japanese heavyweights HECTIC had their say in things, this being far from their first rodeo when it comes to New Balance collabos. The UNDFTD x Stussy x HECTIC x New Balance CM996 saw a small Asia-only release towards the tail end of 2011, and has sluggishly been making it’s way to European retailers since then. Looks like it’s finally ready to drop, with pairs showing up at spots like The Good Will Out and other premium New Balance accounts on January 14th. Hit the jump for the full pics and stay tuned for word on whether or not they end up hitting in the US.
