Trail meets Trail with this amazing New Balance MT580 designed by Lester Wasserman of WEST in the Upper West Side of Manhattan; inspired by the outdoor terrain and trail-inspired apparel of the 90′s, the WEST x MT580 combines Wasserman’s concept with the built-for-trail MT580 construction (for those unaware, the MT580 was designed as a trail runner) for a seamless package that combines function and aesthetic. These will be available tomorrow at WEST and a select handful of New Balance purveyors so let us know where these rank among 2012′s impressive New Balance collab output and be sure to lock up your pair when the time comes!

Fortunately enough it appears like this four way footwear team up will indeed be making its way to American shores, with the images we’ve seen to date only promising that European spots would have them in stock. The New Balance MT580 and 1500 included further diversify the lineup of NB silos that have been touched up with the collabo process this year, allowing for a pretty good range of models that has included the likes of the 998, 999, and 1300. And while they’re the only confirmed US retailer at the moment, expect other premium doors to have them on the same date as well.

You’ve got a lot of New Balance heat to keep up on at the moment. What’s more it’s a particularly international group, with partners from various spots around the globe grabbing at some classics NB runners and touching them up. West NYC is holding things down for the US, the Aussies at Sneaker Freaker are doing their thing, and now France joins in on the fun with the upcoming New Balance 580 and New Balance 1500 shown (although do keep in mind that colette and La MJC have some American help in the form of Undefeated). West NYC has long been one of America’s premier New Balance retailers, getting their hands on the full classics lineup including rare collaborations for which NB fanatics are typically left searching on the resale market. West themselves can now contribute to the sneaker stock exchange as we approach the revelation of their collabo on a model with one of the highest guest-to-in-house designer ratios in sneaker history. The West NYC x New Balance MT580 caused a blip on the radar back in July thanks to some teaser pics, and now we finally get a look at the main course. Dubbed the “Alpine Guide Edition”, West’s New Balance offering is inspired by store owner Lester Wasserman’s love of the outdoors and takes its color cues from 90′s alpine and ski apparel to give the MT580 a new spin on a rugged retro look. You can get a better look for yourself after the jump and get ready for the “Alpine Guide Edition” MT580 to arrive at West on Saturday, September 22nd.

When the more UNDFTD influenced half of this pack arrived its inspiration was fairly easy to spot, the ULCA Bruins colors being particularly relevant what with the NCAA football season just getting started. And while we originally had the more Parisian pair pegged as a general homage to La MJC and colette’s home country of France it turns out the aim is a bit more specific, the stripes in particular pointing to a football team of an entirely different nature: soccer club Paris St Germain. While UNDFTD had their fun on the New Balance 1500 in this big name collabo pack painting it with some local colors, the New Balance MT580 from the set is held down by the French folks involved. The sneaker dons a deep red and blue treatment for the mostly suede upper, along white some white scattered around the edges to run the gamut of France’s flag. Bringing together Los Angelian and Parisian tastes to the New Balance is this amazing four-way collaboration among LA-born UNDFTD, Paris-based colette and La MJC, and New Balance. Dubbed the ‘UCLA’ Pack, this capsule features two of New Balance’s most popular current models in the trail-specific MT580 and the small-N 1500 model; both colorways are inspired by the two cities – the Blue/Yellow being a clear nod to UCLA while the Navy/Red/White being of French descent. The UCLA Pack is set to be a limited release in the near fture, so peep the details below and we’ll keep you updated regarding release information!

Each of the three partners reigned in for this upcoming New Balance project have proven up to this point that they can play well with others when it comes to NB models, with staples of French cool LaMJC and colette having meshed on this New Balance 1500 creation and Undefeated having linked up with Stussy and HECTIC on their very own 996. This time around the three of them get together on the New Balance MT580, cranking out the inevitable red, white, and blue sneaker that we’d bet is more Tricolour than Old Glory in its intention. Beyond that you can see the UNDFTD influence in the details, with the chenille N hit on the side very much in tune with their classic sporting imagery.
