Among the earliest, and still to this day, best, colorways of the Nike ACG Lunar Macleay was the Solar Red ‘China’ edition that hit retailers last October. That bold look added Moss Green accents for one of the most eye-catching modern ACG designs we’ve seen, and here’s proof that the Solar shade is sufficiently vibrant to grab your attention even in a supporting role. Most of these new Lunar Macleay ACGs are done in Anthracite nubuck, which has the overall feel of this new release something like an outdoorsy take on the ‘Infrared’ palettes that remain legendary for so many early ’90s Nikes. Check out the Anthracite/Solar Red Macleays in more detail after the jump and look for them now at Nike Sportswear retailers like Premier.

Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay – Sky Blue – Purple

We’re happy to say that it looks like the Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay is here to stay for the Fall/Winter season. This flashy boot with the sole of a runner does the hybrid thing correctly, with the lightweight LunarLon addition looking right under the tough ACG upper of the shoe. A typical theme for the Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay is an earthy upper paired with a bit of flash in the lacing system, but this colorway takes it a bit further-giving the upper a lighter overall look for a unified feel. These are starting to pop up overseas at spots like Mita, but stick with Sneaker News for info on a pending US release date. Full pics after the jump.

Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay – Ironstone – Olive

October 23rd, 2011 by | 2 comments

When the Nike ACG weather hits in your area, one of the only downsides to bringing out the winterized gear is the overall weight of these beefed up offerings. The Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay seeks to alleviate that, coming with a super lightweight LunarLon sole in one of the more sensible strokes of hybridization we’ve seen from the team in Beaverton. This colorway utilizes a typical ACG approach, with the uppers done up in muted colors and materials that get an exclamation mark thanks to the florescent yellow on the laces and the lining. Check out the full pics of the Ironstone/Olive colorway after the jump, which is available now at European retailers like Shelta. A stateside release shouldn’t be far behind, so stick with Sneaker News for info on that.

nike macleay ct preorder 9 29 11 summary Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay October 2011

The Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay is one of those shoes that may not sound great on paper, with the combo of LunarLon soles and a boot-styled silhouette probably not making much sense to the uninitiated. But once you see them, it all comes together. Debuted in 2010, the Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay is the perfect middle ground between the rugged Nike ACG line and their offerings for the running crowd. We’ve got an inside look at two new colorways of this boot hybrid, which both stick to the ACG approach of utilizing an earthy tone for the base of the shoe, then injecting some pop with a more vivid shade. Check out the full pictures of the olive/yellow and the black/pink colorways after the jump and hit up Crooked Tongues to lock them down ahead of their October release.

nike acg lunar macleay fall 2011 1 Nike ACG Lunar MacLeay Fall 2011 Preview
