The Nike ACG Zoom Meriwether is at the head of the class of a new generation of All Conditions Gear boots. This rugged yet elegant design has excelled to this point by proving an absolute command over tonal suede applications, but this latest pair manages to climb just as high by embracing one the models that laid the foundation for ACG. This ‘Bison’ Zoom Meriwether ACG Quickstrike adds red laces and black accents to approximate the OG Air Magma look, a white midsole the key difference in colorblocking. This quarter-century or so retrospective on Nike Boots offers the kind of quality that’ll have you looking forward to the next generation will bring. After Converse wrapped up its 1Hund(RED) Artist collaboration a couple years back, its PRODUCT drops have trickled to a stop, leaving another Nike, Inc. branch to step in with a few AIDS research-benefiting designs of their own. Coming from Nike Sportswear’s All Conditions Gear division comes this brand new PRODUCT(RED) x Nike ACG Zoom Meriwether boot, a design notably different from the majority of releases to this point for its use of a smooth leather upper rather than suede. This buttery smooth black base works great with red laces and a white midsole, and that combo perfectly matches the NSW Melton Destroyer peacoat and NSW Cheyenne Backpack. Expect these at the most exclusive Nike Sportswear stockists starting December 1st, and click through to see the entire collection in the meantime.

It was just last week that Sneaker News gave you a close-up look at the upcoming Air Magma Zip created in collaboration with fragment design, a model that takes a cue from something brand new from Nike All Conditions Gear. It’s a fitting tribute to the Nike ACG Zoom Meriwether that its own body is something like an updated take on the Magma’s sweeping suede silhouette, these two simple Hiroshi Fujiwara-styled colorways quite a bit calmer than what likely comes to mind when you picture ‘Nike ACG’. Check them out in greater detail following the jump below and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date. via Kasina

If Meriwether Lewis would have never made the journey out west with William Clark, we wouldn’t have the great state of Oregon. And without Oregon there would be no Nike, and without Nike-well we’ll stop there because you get the point, and frankly nobody wants to imagine a world like that. It makes sense then that Nike would give a shout out to the man who made that trek with a tough pair of boots like these. The Nike ACG Zoom Meriwether gets a smooth suede upper on top of the thick chunky soles, pairing elegance with ruggedness. The two colorways shown give a little nod to Meriwether’s final destination with their brilliant shades of green and orange, coming off looking like a rivalry pack for Oregon’s two state schools. Get the full look at this new Nike ACG offering after the jump and grab your pair at Premier.

Are we looking at this generation’s Air Magma? The Nike ACG Zoom Meriwether certainly hearkens back to one of All Conditions Gear’s all-timers thanks to a sueded upper devoid of extraneous stitching and additions, though these three colorways have been cast in velvety nubuck and smooth leather rather than the Magma’s signature ultra-nappy suede. And while there’s no denying the Magma’s classic status, the Zoom Meriwether makes a compelling argument to be the leader of the new school, a medial zipper adding a little extra punch in addition to the new colorblocking options afforded by that area’s leather wraparound and the beefy TrailFrame sole. Click through to see three upcoming colorways and stick with Sneaker News for more including their US release dates. via SF
