Lil’ Wayne has fully immersed himself into the ‘skate’ culture, but you’ll still find him rocking Nikes on a frequent basis – just like when he was sitting courtside during Saturday’s Game 1 between the Heat and the Knicks. The Supra-connected rapper was seen wearing the Nike Air Diamond Turf II in the recently re-released OG 49ers joints to match his outfit that was comparatively ‘toned down’ from his earlier get-ups. For a guy who has openly expressed disdain the Heat players for not giving him any daps, he certainly shells out a lot of cash to see them play live! Game 2 of the Knicks/Heat kicks off tonight – will this series match the intensity of the earlier match-ups from the Van Gundy vs. Riley era? Photos: espn

With its recent ‘Cool Grey’ drop one of the sleeper retro hits of the spring season, now’s a great time for a new Nike Air Diamond Turf II to hit retailers. This one’s for young ladies with a spin on the OG black/Metallic Gold style that opts for pink accents instead of the traditional San Francisco 49ers look. This means that the ‘GS’ on these is more ‘girls’ than ‘grade school’, but they manage an A+ in ‘pink and shrink’ by carefully adapting a familiar OG color pattern. Examine them more closely below and then head out to NSW stores like Oneness to grab yours today.

2012 is going to be a glorious year for Turf Trainer fanatics. One reason? Look above. The original Varsity Red/White-Metallic Gold joints were confirmed for a release a few months back, inciting a joyous hurrah from Trainer nuts – and is that really surprising? One of the most memorable Turf Trainer releases ever returns in the most energetic colorway of its history, so why is that not a reason to celebrate? You may have spotted the Nike Air Diamond Turf II in this fiery colorway at your local spots, but if you haven’t, Rock City Kicks is beginning to stock them as will other spots as we near the official April 6th release date.

Just a short while back, Nike Sportswear released a new Diamond Turf II in Stealth and white plus a Freshwater lining/underlay, a look that both captures today’s crisp colorblocking trends and reflects the DTII’s 1996 contemporary Air Max Griffey 1. This latest Nike Air Diamond Turf II turns around less than a week later and gives us an entirely different white/grey mix, everything from the blocking pattern and grey shade (Cool, in this case), to the blue shade peeking through on the side panels (Soar instead of the Griffey-esque teal). The result is a shoe that’s all too easy to overlook in this year that’s utterly stuffed with heat, so click through to get a sense for this pair’s unique identity as compared to the above-linked ‘Stealth’ edition, and don’t miss the ‘Cool Grey’ DTIIs while they’re available from NikeStore.

Nike Sportswear has impressed us with the new colorways of the Air Diamond Turf II like the GS ‘Stealth’ and the men’s ‘Black/White’ colorway, but here’s what all of you really have been waiting for – the OG 49ers in the Varsity Red/White-Metallic Gold colorway. Undoubtedly one of 2012′s most coveted Retro releases, the Air Diamond Turf II finally returned earlier this year in the OG White/Gold Niners joints, with the onslaught continuing this April 6th when these beauties return to stores. Will the Deion Sanders line of Nikes receive some sort of Griffey-like treatment (hybrids, 360 Max Air versions)? We know you’ve been waiting for a release on these so let us know if these are a must-have for you and stick with Sneaker News for more updates.

We noted in a recent look at the Zoom Kobe VII ‘Wolf’ that its signature grey shade is probably second only to the Cool version when it comes to recent prominence. But let’s not forget about this other hue that eschews ‘grey’ in its name for a more abstract approach that just so happens to be an oxymoron on this new Nike Air Diamond Turf II. Put simply, there’s no way your sneakerhead friends aren’t going to comment on the Stealth and white base thanks to Freshwater accents that further connect these to their fellow 1996 classman from the Griffey series. And if you figure in Stealth’s rise on the Air Jordan XX, this model gives an interesting look back through history courtesy of a couple of eight year leaps. Several ingredients from the past blended in today’s crisp style, this new DT2 is available at Nike Sportswear stores like Extra Butter.

Deion Sanders’ soon-to-be ex-wife is looking to get $200MM in the divorce, presumably some of which would be used to take care of young Deion Jr. and Deiondra. But before Prime Time’s latest attention-grabbing suit goes final, he’ll already be providing some child support in the form of this new Nike Air Diamond Turf II in grade school sizes. This Stealth nubuck/white leather design adds teal to its sockliner and on the heel strap in a way that points to Sanders’ dual sport insignia on the heel badge. You can see more images after the jump below, then find them at Nike Sportswear stockists like Wish.

The OG 49ers colorway of the Nike Air Diamond Turf II was unleashed about a week back, but if you’re averse to the San Francisco connection then there are more pairs to be had. Keeping things pretty much as neutral as possible is the black and white version shown here, which strips down the more colorful aspects of the aforementioned 49ers pair and then reverses the black and white sections. Hit the jump for some better shots of this clean looking Nike Air Diamond Turf II and be on the lookout for them now at accounts like Sneaker Bistro.
