The Nike Air Flight 89 crown definitely belongs to this black and red pair at the moment. Just in case the Bulls-looking combination is a off-putting for you though, there are indeed more bangers on the horizon for this Nike Retro favorite. Shown here is one of them, a combination of cool grey and poison green that switches around the typical textures found on the upper. The poison green thing was kind of an Easter thing, but these are a little bit far out from that date to really qualify. Check out the Nike Air Flight 89 below and then purchase a pair for yourself from Caliroots.

Forever linked in conversation with the Air Jordan IV thanks to their shared tooling, the Nike Air Flight ’89 is back in a new colorway that should only serve to deepen that connection. This newest Air Flight 89 comes in that familiar palette that’s synonymous with Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls, a style whose mix of tumbled and microperforated leathers offer a throwback to a time when basketball sneakers weren’t dominated by synthetic materials. The white/black split midsole is an interesting look that hopefully we’ll see on more colorways, and you can check out this pair in depth below before buying from Nike Sportswear dealers like Size?

The Nike Air Flight ’89 continues to outpace the rest of the late ’80s basketball archives (be it Nike Sportswear or any other brand), and another new colorway has arrived with the latest new blocking pattern. It looked quite a bit different in black and Bright Citrus and though closer, and this new one is perhaps even further away from the metallic copper edition that also hit in grey-piped white leather. Now with Hyper Blue running up the eyestay and tongue, the model takes on a more classic appeal, though those of us who’ve been around for the whole quarter-century since its debut will instantly recognize it’s just a bit outside of the classic colorblocking. Decide for yourself how good the new style looks after you’ve seen more photos below, then look for them at NSW retailers like Caliroots.

The Air Flight ’89 production channel never really saw a stop over the last decade – it was only last year that we saw a considerable bump in colorways largely due to the fact that the Air Jordan IV was massively Retroed and extra midsole molds were probably available for use. One thing to note about this Air Jordan IV cousin is that the outsole features ‘Nike’, which could signify – in light of the recent Retro ’88 release – that an Air Jordan IV with ‘Nike Air’ could happen! That’s all speculation at this point, but this new ‘Copper’ colorway of the Air Flight ’89 is still a sick one for those who love this late-80′s cult hit, so enjoy the additional angles they’ve provided below and don’t forget to cop your pair on Eastbay.

Looking at this latest release, one can’t help but wonder what would happen if some of Nike Sportswear’s basketball classics took on the Engineered Mesh upgrade. This new Nike Air Flight ’89 resembles NSW’s ‘Sunrise Pack’ of EM updates thanks to the combination of black and Bright Citrus, the latter of which seems particularly dusky (or dawn-y, as the case may be) in these images. Have a closer look below, let us know how these compare to the colorways we saw in 2012 and stick with Sneaker News as we approach the March release.

The Air Flight ’89 has an incredible cult following among older heads, but we can’t deny the fact that a crop of younger sneakerheads gave this shoe some more attention once Kanye was seen wearing a pair. We can’t help but admit that the hip-hop star does influence fashion sense, but the Air Flight ’89 was a classic long before ‘Ye wore ‘em. This new White/Grey colorway is the latest to roll out of NSW’s catalog, and quite honestly, it begs for some black speckling on the midsole for that ‘White/Cement’ appeal. More angles below, so take a look and keep an eye out for a release soon.

A consistent contributor to the Nike Sportswear catalog over the past year, the Nike Air Flight 89 returns with another of the high-energy colorups to which it was introduced in 2012. A grade school-sized release with a fairly strong feminine lean, this Neo Turquoise and Electric Yellow-accented Fusion Pink build reads like an ‘Un-’ to the ‘London’ edition that dropped last August. They’re the latest example of how the CMYK palette is impactful in any arrangement, seen below in more photos and available now at Afew.

The Nike Air Flight ’89 is commonly seen as the Air Jordan IV’s little brother (it is riding an almost identical sole setup, after all). We often see Chicago-style colorups in reference to this fact, but here’s a case where the Flight 89 debuts a totally novel palette. Combining rookie shades Squadron Blue and Hyper Red with the slightly more tenured Photo Blue base results in an impactful leather build that takes the simpler blocking tendencies associated with this model’s era and translates that essence into today’s monochromatic look. This Air Flight 89 GS just popped up at select Nike Sportswear retailers, so have a closer look, then grab a pair from Afew.
