The Nike Air Flight Classic quietly debuted in 2010 with an Air Jordan IV/Air Flight ’89 sole and a new upper befitting the titular series. New releases have been few and far between, so it’d be natural to assume that like a handful of other Nike Sportswear faux-retro styles, they’d been phased out in favor of other options. This turns out not to be the case, as this Obsidian nubuck design arrives with white and soft blue accents. Take a dash of Air Flight ’89 (or Air Jordan IV for you Jumpman fanatics), add in a healthy portion of Air Maestro and serve it on a two-toned plate of classic varsity goodness. You’d be hard pressed to come up with a better representation of ’80s-’90s turn of the decade basketball aesthetics than the Nike Air Flight Classic. It’s one of those models that’s currently benefitting from the trend toward simple palettes and this navy-on-white look is crisp enough to be a serviceable summer shoe.
