It was nearly three months ago that Sneaker News first showed you a new black Air Foamposite One whose ‘dark’ design was embellished with a subtle golden speckle and select red hits. Its vaguely Miami Heat-leaning look features a novel approach to this legendary basketball midtop, but might a simpler rendition be even more appealing? It’s your decision to make now that we get another glimpse at the ‘Stealth’ Nike Air Foamposite One from the Sneaker Battle at Nike’s Shanghai FOS event. Nike Sportswear head man Gentry Humphrey showed off a bunch of upcoming heat including this dark Foam One whose dark-as-night colorway suggests you might be lining up with a belly full of Thanksgiving turkey to cop them on Black Friday. Perhaps Foamposites are getting a bit too “color-happy” with the Pearlized Pink and Electrolime varieties, but later this year Nike Sportswear is going back to dark and gritty with the release of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Stealth”. Sneaker News was first to show you this colorway back in April, but here we have another look at this purported Holiday 2012 release; it combines a tonal black upper with Stealth Grey hints and a translucent outsole, somewhat akin to the ‘Blackout’ Foamposites that have been skyrocketing in price lately. Are you happy that Foams are getting back to their darker-colored roots, or would you like to see more experimentation with colorways and graphics?

The Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Stealth’ is a black based colorway for the Nike Air Foamposite One, a key sneaker in Penny Hardaway’s Nike Air Penny line. There have been a relatively small number of black based Nike Air Foamposite One releases since the sneaker saw surge in popularity following the retro treatment of the past few years, with most of said colorways introducing color via the outsole. This pair keeps things more muted, although going for a translucent look on the bottom in place of the traditional black of previous Nike Air Foamposite One releases.
