red nike sneakers yeezy 1 Are All Red Sneakers A Big Trend for 2014?

All-red sneakers have been a hot commodity since the movement began last summer with the appearance of the infamous ‘Red October’ Yeezy 2.  The coveted ’Legends of the Summer’ Air Jordan collection from that Jay Z/Justin Timberlake tour followed soon after Yeezy’s SNL performance and also remain unreleased to this point in history.  Now coming up in 2014 there’s the Supreme Foamposite pack, the ‘Infrared 23′ Air Jordan 6, the ‘Gym Red’ Jordan 1 Retro High OG we saw earlier this morning, and presumably more pairs to come as the momentum builds and more people want in on this fiery look.  Click in to see four of the finer examples, let us know if you think all-red sneakers will be a major trend in 2014, and stick with Sneaker News for the latest.

Where Will Foamposites Go in 2014?

2014 foamposite releases 2 Where Will Foamposites Go in 2014?

What direction will Foamposites go in 2014? This past year marked a major shift in Nike Sportswear’s approach to the beloved Penny sneakers, as it was the first one on record that had more graphic Foamposites than it did solidly colored ones. And yes, some of those patterned releases were lambasted, but a good number of them also pleased the public. Consider the results of our recent Best and Worst Foamposites of 2013 poll: the “Weatherman” and “Thermal Map” pairs were the least favored while the “Oregon” and “Fighter Jet” were the favorites. Regardless of public opinion, it seems like graphic releases will continue to be the norm as evidenced by the upcoming “Spider Man” and “Silver Camo” versions for 2014 that are on display here. Continue reading to see the full results of the Foamposite poll as well as the two confirmed 2014 releases, and let us know in the comments if you think Nike will continue down the “graphic” path while sprinkling in a few tonal colorways.

Graphic Foamposites will go to a whole new level next year with the release of this, the Supreme x Nike Air Foamposite One. Not only do the shoes represent the recent trend of printed pairs for this hallowed Swoosh silhouette, but they also suggest a possible future wherein collab Foamposite releases are regular. Granted, Supreme are near the top of the list as far as Nike partners who can pull of pretty much anything, so we aren’t exactly expecting every sneaker boutique across the land to get their own pair. See more on them after the click and tell us in the comments if you’re feeling the red or the black more.

2013 foamposite releases 12 900x675 Vote For Your Favorite (and Least Favorite) Nike Foamposite of 2013

2013 marked a major turning point in the Nike Foamposite line. For the first time since the sneakers’ initial release back in 1997 with the Nike Air Foamposite One, the lineup was dominated by printed pairs rather than solidly colored ones. Prescient sneakerheads saw this one coming; last year got us familiar with the idea of Foams featuring graphics across their uppers with the likes of the super limited, and subsequently super coveted, Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” and Nike Air Foamposite One “ParaNorman” pairs. Both of those were massive sneaker stories in their own right, and their success meant that it was only a matter of time before the printed Foamposite look went a little more mainstream.
