The Nike Air Foamposite One is being taken in several different directions this spring. Following up on last February’s infamous ‘Galaxy’, we have the ‘Fighter Jet’ camo look, the ‘Whiteout’ edition debuts as the yang to the Stealth’s yin and the pair pictured above revisits the OG template for a look into the latter part of Penny Hardaway’s NBA career. This ‘Phoenix Suns’ Air Foamposite One won’t be overlooked because that simply doesn’t happen with Foams anymore, but with Eggplants out just a few years ago, how might that impact their demand relative to the others mentioned above (particularly in the resale market, because these are a mortal lock for a quick sell-out)? The next Nike Air Foamposite One pair to get dressed up in a graphic print is very nearly here. Tomorrow will mark the release of the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Fighter Jet’, a sneaker that was originally predicted to be caught up in the 2013 NBA All-Star given the ‘Galaxy’ connection that went down last year. That’s not to be, as the pair will instead slide right onto retail shelves without any real story connected. With sneakers getting crazier these days with colorways, is there even a market for all-white shoes? The white-on-white Air Force 1 Low is always a top seller ever year, but Foamposites are a completely different game; just look at the recent string of releases like Galaxy, Electrolime, and so on, and you’d expect a continuation of brightly-colored metallic finishes. More NFL themed Nike Air Foamposite One customs have arrived from Sole Swap, ones done up to pay homage to the spectacle that was Super Bowl XLVII. The two sneakers included in the pack pick up on the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers colors respectively, each also bearing the ‘Sole Swap’ patch on the back end that has become the watermark of sorts for Jason Negron’s work. While certain sneakers in the Foamposite lineage continue to get more and more graphical following the precedent set by the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’, there is a single colorway on the horizon fighting against that trend. That would be the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘White’, a sneaker whose colorway is about as simple as that name would indicate. The upper is a dove white affair and the icy outsoles on bottom keep things clear rather than sliding in the blue tint.
