Yesterday was a busy day for ‘Concord’.  The original Air Jordan XI style has been seen on both the lowtop form set to release in May as well as what is arguably Nike Sportswear’s hottest retro silhouette, the Nike Air Foamposite One.  This new ‘Concord’ Foamposite One has a sort of inverted feel with the white eyestay and tongue, and instead of just using a hint of the regal accent color, the Foams opt to dip the entire outsole in a translucent blue.  Stick with Sneaker News for release info and let us know where these rank among the ‘Concord’ XI-inspired releases we’ve seen over the years.

Nike Air Foamposite One “Concord”

The Nike Air Foamposite One “Concord” is coming. It’s important to note that this pair actually mixes game royal into the black and white base, instead of dark concord like the Air Jordan 11 referenced. Other than that though they do a pretty good job of mimicking the Concord theme – the Foamposite pieces even have a shiny look to them that pushes them closer to the patent leather of the Eleven. See the full set of images on the “Concord” Foams after the break and keep your fingers crossed that a release date shows up soon.

concord foamposites Nike Air Foamposite Concord in the Works?

It looks like the worlds of Michael and Penny just might collide with a Nike Air Foamposite One “Concord” release. The pair pictured has a black and white look that’s pretty similar to the beloved Air Jordan 11 “Concord”, although they’re of course missing the patent leather on the materials side. For what it’s worth a Black/Varsity Royal-White Foamposite One release with a style code of 575420-005 is arriving in Summer, and these could be the one in question. See some more evidence after the break and check back in on Sneaker News to find out more on this curious pair of Foamposites.

best foamposites What Are Your Top 5 Foamposites of All Time?

Are these five Foamposites the greatest of all time? That could be debatable, but this line-up of Galaxy, Paranorman, Doernbecher, and Supreme in both black and red puts up quite the argument. We feel that the original Royal deserves a spot among the greatest, while other classics like the “Pearl”, “Copper”, and “Blackout” make a case to be considered among the best ever. There’s a clear line drawn between Foamposites in history; one side holds the classic, tonal-uppered compositions, while the opposing side is much louder with graphic prints and concepts. Let us know what your top 5 Foamposites of all-time are in the comments below.

crazy sneaker releases Is It Worth It? A Look Back at Crazy Sneaker Releases and Campouts

In preparation of today’s in-store release of the Supreme Foamposites, hordes of sneakerheads and brand loyalists gathered at the store locations in New York and Los Angeles with hopes of acquiring a pair in person. The mayhem at the NYC location forced the NYPD the cancel the in-store release in New York due to safety concerns, and the thousands that showed up were forced to go home and wait for the online release. The events that unfolded are a reminder that Nike’s efforts to keep these types of releases strictly digital have produced positive results, especially with the higher frequency of high profile items. However not everything can be done through an RSVP or Twitter Link Only system, and there was a time when chaos on release dates was to be expected.
