We’ve seen sneakers get a horror inspired makeover plenty of times before, with Freddy Krueger being a frequent muse in that realm. Leaning more towards the campy side is this Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Evil Dead’ custom, calling upon that classic slasher flick with its gory graphics. Along with the blood splatters and “Evil Dead” hit across the back, the sneaker slides in a crazy chainsaw gear look around the carbon fiber plate as a tribute to main character Ash’s weapon of choice. The Olympics are all business, but if you overpowered your opponent so emphatically like Team USA did Tunisia, you deserve a little break. After defeating Tunisia by a Dream Team-like margin of 47 points, the members of Team USA spent a night out in London – specifically the Funky Buddha venue in Mayfair. All were donned in Nike USA gear from head to toe, with guys like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, and James Harden wearing some notable kicks; LeBron was clad in the Trainer 1 Max 360 Breathe, Melo rocked the Blazer Mid ‘USA’, KD rocked the Volt/Black Flyknit Trainers, and Harden brought some Stateside sneaker flavor by wearing the Gym Green Foamposites. More of Team USA in sneaker heat below, so take a look and stay tuned for more Team USA action tomorrow as they take on Nigeria. Photos: zimbio

Count it – four Air Foamposite releases for 2012 at the midpoint of the year. If the second half is anything like the first, that means eight Air Foamposite releases will have touched down, so is this ‘Foams for all’ approach going to continue for 2013? However NSW wants to handle the Foamposite releases from here on out isn’t yet known, but those who are die-hard Foamposite collectors don’t have much to complain about because 2012 is already confirmed to beat last year’s count of six releases. If you’ve been eyeing the Gym Greens since Sneaker News first provided images in late May, Nike Sportswear retailers will indeed have these in stock, so check out the final gallery of images below and see what you can snag online, like these available pairs from shoejocky on eBay.

Nike Sportswear’s upcoming release of the ‘Gym Green’ colorway of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro has stirred up an interesting debate in our comments corner among our readers. Where exactly does ‘Gym Green’ appear in the shoe? It’s rather clear that the green hue does show up on the AIR notation on the tongue as well as the Swoosh and FOAMPOSITE lettering on the heel-tab, but is that enough for these to be dubbed ‘Gym Green’ when its used so sparsely? The hue of the upper, which has an iridescent ‘chameleon’ effect, is like a mash-up of Copper, Eggplant, and Pine Green, giving this colorway a good-enough distinction to be a must-have come next Saturday. We’ve got a first detailed look at this release just below, so take a look at the gallery and let use know if these are already on your ‘copped’ list! Photos: itsb

Last week’s Classics Revisited feature spotlighted the Nike Air Foamposite Pro in a few of its more notable colorways; might a similar spotlight fifteen more years down the road include the upcoming release pictured above? The ‘Gym Green’ Air Foamposite Pro has people talking about its iridescent upper that in its own right is every bit as visually engaging as February’s infamous ‘Galaxy’ Foamposite One. They offer a vaguely earthy appeal to fit the fall season look offered last year by the more straightforward ‘Dark Pine’ edition, but might this pair’s unique (combination of) color(s) make it an even more versatile choice? Let us know what you think as you’re checking out more courtesy of DJ Clark Kent and stick with Sneaker News for updates as we approach the Saturday, June 30th release date.

The first half of the year saw a good number of Nike Air Foamposite One releases, a mania that was clearly capped off by the ‘Galaxy’ madness. Moving into phase two of 2012 it looks like the Nike Air Foamposite Pro is set to take over, with the more heavily Swoosh sporting model set to hit shelves again at the end of this month and then later on in September. The colorway that’s right around the corner is the ‘Gym Green’ pictured here, a drop that has been touted as this year’s answer to the ‘Pine Green’ pair of 2011. Click through for some extra angles on the Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Gym Green’ and let us know if you’ll be fitting them into your rotation come June 30th. Photos: Hoops

Sneaker News hit you with the first catalog shots of the upcoming ‘Gym Green’ Air Foamposite Pro (previously noted as the ‘Gem Green’), but here’s a first clear look at the actual shoes, set for a release in July. The ‘Gym Green’ is seen on the Swoosh embroidered on the heel, the ‘FOAMPOSITE’ lettering on the heel-tab, and the Swoosh on the outsole, while the upper carries the iridescent appeal that looks something like a cross between 2011′s Dark Pine and 2010′s Copper. One additional detail that should be noted is the $220 price-tag – a $30 increase from the last Air Foamposite Pro. Additional views below, so take a look and stay tuned for more updates.
