NIKE AIR FOAMPOSITE PRO The Nike Air Foamposite Pro is a Nike Basketball sneaker that debuted in 1997, hitting shelves soon after its predecessor the Nike Air Foamposite One. The Pro features a similar silhouette, with the differences coming in the form of the side Swoosh and the lack of any Penny Hardaway branding. The Nike Air Foamposite was also given the retro treatment much sooner than the One, being trotted out again at the early part of the last decade.

So the Nike Foamposite took a strange turn when we first laid eyes on the funky “Weatherman” sample, with many of our readers being rather vocal regarding the overtly ornate colorways mocked up by the Nike team. This first look at yet another graphic print on a Foamposite should coerce a similar response for sure, as the Foamposite appears to explore outer space once again with an incredible gradient on the upper and outsole and what appears to be imagery of an asteroid belt. Camouflage print has reigned supreme in 2013 sneakers, with all types ranging from Foamposites to adidas Campus 80s adorning the rugged graphic that has forever been a iconic fashion statement. But how’s it look on Foams? We got a glimpse of it in the Fighter Jets back in February, but this upcoming release takes on the true camo-print style with green, brown, black, and tan tones, but opts for a bit of contrast with the hits of Volt. A release date for the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Camo” has been confirmed for June 8th, but if you want to pick up a pair early, get one now from prc.kicks on eBay.

One of the more famed unreleased Foamposite samples in history is this Chocolate/Mocha colorway that first surfaced in 2006. Despite never officially hitting retailers, a very small number of retailers actually sold these back in the day, although they weren’t that much of a hit at the time anyway. But with Foamposite popularity and incredible heights and options in the color palette getting leaner with each passing release, could this Chocolate/Mocha sample fare better in stores today, or will these be an easy pass? The unique details of the “Army Camo” Nike Foamposite are making these more and more enticing as we approach a release (confirmed date not yet known), as we see yet another hang-tag featuring a military-themed crest in a Volt/Black colorway. In addition to the details on the shoes, the Nike Sportswear box features a special billboard on the inner face of the lid with more military-themed graphics, pointing to potential series of military-inspired Foamposite releases. For those not feeling the Camo, the Sport Royal joints should definitely keep you occupied, but if you’re in the market for these and want to get them early, get this size 8.5 now from keepitrealvtg on eBay.

Somewhat of an unofficial follow-up to February’s release of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Fighter Jet” is this Army Camo colorway, utilizing traditional colors on the camouflage upper with a solid gum outsole for even more of the militaristic appeal. A distinct contrast comes from the Volt-colored detailing on the tongue pull-tabs, the signature stripe on the tongue, and even the “AIR” on the tongue logo that is done in classic Army stencil font. Hey Foamposite heads – are y’all ready for another camouflage-print pair of Foams? The answer seems obvious, but considering the $235 Fighter Jets didn’t exactly have sneakerheads running to the stores (and some stores still have them available at retail), maybe the Green Camo Foamposite Pro won’t clear out of stores as fast as we originally anticipated. However, these have a true military appeal with classic colors on the camo print and the sick Gum outsole being a nice throwback to one of the OGs in 1997, so maybe this Green Camo Pro – arguable a “Camo Foamposite” done right – will be a bigger hit. There’s no confirmation if this version will be the final release, but it’s a safe bet at this point. We’d like to know if the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Camo” will be a big draw, so let us know and stay tuned for more updates.
