NIKE AIR FOAMPOSITE PRO The Nike Air Foamposite Pro is a Nike Basketball sneaker that debuted in 1997, hitting shelves soon after its predecessor the Nike Air Foamposite One. The Pro features a similar silhouette, with the differences coming in the form of the side Swoosh and the lack of any Penny Hardaway branding. The Nike Air Foamposite was also given the retro treatment much sooner than the One, being trotted out again at the early part of the last decade.

We know you can’t get enough of Air Foamposites, so here’s a first detailed look at the upcoming Black/Gem Green colorway, currently slated for July 2012; it’s got the classic color-blocking with the black neck, collar, and Swoosh, with a translucent outsole, but the upper features an interesting iridescent ‘chameleon’-like finish that looks something like a mix between the Eggplants and the Coppers. Could this be a ‘Bronze’ colorway, fitting in with the upcoming Olympic theme of the Air Foamposite One ‘Gold’? Although the product info coincides with the ‘Gem Green’ that was intially previewed back in mid-January, it’s rather interesting to see that there isn’t much ‘Green’ about these. We’ll keep you updated on more developments regarding this colorway and all other Foamposite news, so check out the gallery below and stick with Sneaker News for more.

Next up, here’s a solid look at the upcoming September release of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro in the Metallic Silver/Crimson-Black colorway; it was first previewed during the Niketown Las Vegas x Air Penny event a few months back, but this close-up viewing gives us a good grasp of what to expect. In a nutshell? The 05 Metallic Silver Foamposite Pro with a slightly more lustrious upper and Crimson Red detailing on the outsole and upper. Although he promised us that he would wear them for Game 4, Spike Lee could not resist his own temptation and wore his Knicks Foamposite PE for Game 3 – the first game of the series to be held at Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately for Spike and Knicks fans worldwide, the New York Knicks could not seize the Home Court opportunity and fell deeper in the loss column, facing a possible sweep at the hands of the Miami Heat as we near Game 4 this Sunday. We’ve got some shots of Spike Lee wearing his Foamposite PEs courtside below, so take a look and hopefully the Knicks’ fortunes would be a bit better come Game 4. Photos: espn

Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Galaxy’ Customs By Smooth Tip

nike foamposite pro galaxy 41 Nike Air Foamposite Pro Galaxy Customs By Smooth Tip

The ‘Galaxy’ custom is one that several have attempted but very few have perfected. Admittedly, it’s one of the most unique graphic prints ever used on a Nike shoe, but we’ve seen Zoom Rookies and ‘Electro-Galaxy‘ done quite well. What’s one way to top that? To ‘Galaxy’ out a pair of Foamposite Pros, which makes some sense considering the earliest catalog shot of the Galaxy was that of a Foamposite Pro. This custom, done by Smooth Tip Productions, goes as far as giving the outsole the complete Glow effect, making these customs one of the closest we’ve seen thus far. More angles below, so check ‘em out and let us know if you like a ‘Pro’ version better than the ‘One’.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Atlantis’ Customs By Peculiar Kinetics

We’ve seen two Foamposite customs over the last two weeks – have we embarked upon the next trend in custom kicks? Following last week’s ‘Electro-Galaxy’ buzz, we got a look at another Foamposite custom in the ‘Invisibility Cloak’, which featured a glossy and iridescent upper and leaving us pondering the possibilities of Foamposite colorways. Up until the Galaxy, we were only treated with tonal colorways, like this familiar emerald blue Foamposite job done by Peculiar Kinetics Studios; it features the jeweled blue splashed on the upper as well as on the outsole and swoosh for that true one-piece appeal, adapting the color from an inspiration that spawned from the lost city of Atlantis. We’ve got a nice gallery of the Air Foamposite Pro ‘Atlantis’ custom after the jump, so let us know where this ranks thus far in the ever-growing Foam-customs sector and stick with Sneaker News for the latest custom sneaker projects!

Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘No Church In The Wild’ Customs By Mache

How does a mere compilation of tracks cause such a cultural phenomenon? Jay-Z’s and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne has permeated various style outlets, from high-end fashion to exclusive Nike sneakers. The LeBron 9 ‘Watch The Throne’ caused an alarming buzz in the sneaker scene, becoming one of the most hard-to-get LeBrons ever and a certified must-have for Kanye/Jay-Z fans. Mache Customs gives us his rendition of the Nike x Kanye x Jay-Z, using the track ‘No Church in the Wild’ as the inspiration; using the Electric Green Foam Pro as the base, Mache gives these customs a dual force, opting for wild safari stripes on the lateral side and cheetah print on the medial, which is reminiscent of the popular Versace x H&M Bomber Jacket that released a few months ago. More shots below, so take a look and hit up Mache Customs if you want to commission your own pair.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Tie-Dye’ Customs By TRZackery

nike air foamposite pro tie dye customs 1 Nike Air Foamposite Pro Tie Dye Customs By TRZackery

Some of today’s great inventions started off as accidental discoveries (penicillin and chocolate chip cookies being two of the most celebrated cases of serendipity). This ‘Tie-Dye’ custom, made by TRZackery, was originally intended to be a ‘South Beach’ Custom, placing hot pink dye on the outsoles and the stitches to create a true South Beach theme (the base of the shoe was the Retro Blue version). However, the pink dye didn’t turn out so great, but it did spill over to the upper, creating a funky contrast with the Retro Blue upper. TRZackery decided to build on this mishap by dying the outsoles completely black while selectively adding the pink dye on the upper to create what he calls a ‘Tie-Dye’ motif. It certainly is one of the best multi-colored uppers we’ve seen in a while (much like the scrapped ‘Galaxy’ Foamposites. Like what you see? We’ve got a few shots below so take a look and let us know what you think of this custom accident. via PaintorThread.
