Jordan Brand has seen a successful turn with the Air Jordan Future, and it isn’t too hard to see that the inspiration for that silhouette came partially from the Nike Air Footscape Woven Motion. The sneaker features the unique asymmetrical lacing system and even has a woven feature streaking from the side of the silhouette to the heel, and yet the Footscape remains a mystery in terms of what we’ll get when it comes to a new colorway and when we’ll see them hit retail shelves. Today we get a glimpse at at the latest, and it definitely one ups the last few releases in terms of vibrance thanks to a challenge red base contrasting with photo and polarized blues for the woven portion. Tinker’s design inspiration for the Jordan Future can be traced back to one of his mid-90′s designs – the Nike Air Footscape. The asymmetrical lacing system, intended to remove stress from key points on the foot, is undoubtedly the trademark feature of this legendary cult classic, and although the Footscape and its various forms haven’t seen much daylight throughout most of the latter half of the 2000s, it’s simply awesome to see this shoe get more shine. This latest release of the Air Footscape Woven Motion comes as part of the burgeoning City Pack, with black perforated leather and a shiny heel-tab representing China to the fullest. Check out the extra shot below and we’ll keep you notified if these ever hit U.S. markets.

The Nike Air Footscape Woven Motion has not an especially common shoe to this point in history. It came to us as part of that Bodega ‘Night Cat’ debut for the Woven ‘Scapes but has ceded almost entirely to the higher cut Chukka since. But pairs are coming for the summer, which chop off the Chukka’s elastic ankle for a breezier feel. This grey suede pair has perforations for breathability and a rainbow sherbet mix of Woven ribbons for an energetic look. Click in for more details and stick with Sneaker News for updates because these are hitting Japan in a little under two weeks.
