NIKE AIR FORCE 1 BESPOKE
The Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke is a supreme-grade custom Nike Air Force 1. It can be purchased exclusively from Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer, with design appointments done in-house. The Air Force 1 Bespoke is priced at $820 and completely customizable, with a wide array of exotic materials and colors available for use.

Given the sizeable overlap between car lovers and sneakerheads, it’s somewhat shocking that we’ve not seen more Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke designs referencing their designers’ favorite conveyances. We finally have a clear cut example of an auto-inspired AF1 Bespoke with this new look penned by Greg Lane, a mix of red, black and about five shades of grey that takes its look from his old car. The combination of Elephant on the toebox and rear quarter plus Safari print on the side panel and heel tab is as eye-catching as Lane’s two-tone Dodge Charger, with its reflective 3M Swooshes serving as something like the chrome rims on this neckbreaker. We don’t have similarly definitive proof that he was among the lucky first 30 to get one of the special edition fir-lined wooden boxes, but this new Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke created by faithful customer Slovadon is indeed the first we’ve seen of the Vachetta Leather edition in the wild. This design emphasizes the rich leather with a range of brown tones from chocolate to walnut with a little gum thrown in for good measure. It’s an colorway befitting the signature material that’ll keep Kaws from getting in a tizzy even if these are covered in what’s sometimes alsoreferred to as ‘baseball (glove)’ stitching. Check them out up close after the jump and let us know if the super-deluxe level of premium quality readily apparent on this pair is enough to get you scheduling an appointment with 21 Mercer.

Yes Nike iD’s options are ever expanding, but every once in a while we get another glimpse at a Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke design that reminds us how disparate the respective customization processes are in their options. In this case you certainly get what you pay for, as the jumbo-size price tag on the Bespoke designs let you do pretty much whatever you want. Case in point is this pair from Vernon Dillard, whose grey and blue combo almost looks like a riff off the royal Nike Dunk High QS ‘All-Star’, complete with some 3M detailing for the flashy appeal. Dillard’s takes the industrial feel a bit further though, sliding in pieces of digi-camo wherever he can fit them in across the suede upper of the shoe. Some of the best Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke creations are the ones that hold some sentimental value, after all if you’re going to spend $800 on a pair of sneakers they’d better mean something special to you. Ryan Chapman’s engagement design was a pretty good example of that, as is Jason Curtin’s ‘Bone Rack’ pair shown here. Dedicated to his late grandfather ‘Bone Rack’ who served time in the Marines, the pair looks to elevate his legacy of service through its design. A few nods to the man’s medals are incorporated, with the silver star etching on back and the purple heart icon on the dubrae. The remainder of the upper keeps it clean in a solidly blocked navy colorway, going for denim and suede in a pretty premium look. The latest Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke we’ve got a look at from Shea White has a couple different angles of inspiration that we’re sure are familiar with many of our readers. Take the ‘Sunglasses and Advil’ name given to them, a nod to an epic night of partying that shows up on the custom hangtag and the unique logo on the dubrae. The theme is also explored through the blacked out upper representing the sunglasses one is prone to hide behind after such a night, and the crackled elephant print as a nod to the splitting headache that comes the next day. Of course these also have some Air Jordan DNA in them as well, thanks to the ‘Space Jam’esque materials and colors and again the elephant print on back. Follow us after the jump for the full shots and let us know how these Bespokes compare to the last joints we saw from mister Shea White.

There’s a story behind every Bespoke creation, whether its one that’s written in the spur of the moment or scripted over a lengthy period of time. Meet Ryan Chapman, whose heartwarming story culminated into an awe-inspiring Bespoke creation with a plot taken right out of a romance drama; Ryan proposed with a Bespoke (a similar story told by Brandon Renken), but as we all know, everything about a wedding – the proposal, the arrangements, the flower centerpieces – is about her. Ryan’s Bespoke is dear to his fiance’s heart in more ways than one, and beneath the buttery suede and glossy patent leather is a rich tale of love, sport, and how the two add up to success.
Meet Mallory, a world-class athlete who competed with U.S. National Paralympic swim team; a year ago, she was in search of some red/white/blue kicks to wear to the ceremonial podium for the World Champioships, so she and Ryan cooked up a nice Nike iD colorway of the Shox NZ (pictured below). So after a year and several months of dating, Ryan used that sentimental Shox NZ colorway to create a special Bespoke for Mallory with the date of their first encounter engraved on the lace dubrae, and with the ring attached to the golden hang-tag, Ryan made the ultimate pick-up of his life – a beautiful fiance with a love for sneakers and a passion for sports. Ryan was gracious enough to share his story with us, so check out his Bespoke after the jump and let us know if you have any personal sneaker-tales you’d like to share with us.

It seems as if Shane Victorino went on a mini shopping spree at the 21 Mercer studio recently, bringing home two pairs of the Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke. Following his Bruce Lee tribute, we’ve got another pair that pays homage to something near and dear to his heart: the City of Brotherly Love. The sneakers mix in the colors of his Phillies uniform together with a chestnut brown suede on the uppers that his held together by the fat stitch option-which gives it a baseball mitt look. The Philadelphia skyline shows up on the tongue and runs along the heel area of this Bespoke creation, confirming their inspiration along with the “Philly” etched onto the dubraes. Follow us after the jump for a better look and let us know which Shane Victorino Bespoke you prefer.
