The Nike Air Force 1 Duckboot proved with recent NIKEiD options that it was ready to push beyond the traditional earthy styles we expect from this classic weather-ready boot. The latest release is at least at first glance more of the standard you might expect from this century-old rainy day design, but thanks to the vibrant orange laces and a sick translucent/gum sole setup, these push their khaki upper toward the kind of subtle expressiveness that immediately establishes you as someone with a keen eye for detail. Have a closer look after the jump and make the most of the rest of winter in this new ‘Grain’ AF1 Duckboot at Nike Sportswear retailers like Rock City Kicks.

The Nike Air Force 1 High ‘Duckboot’ has been a successful AF1 variant since its debut about two years ago, particularly in areas prone to sneaker-threatening foul weather. That’s just about everywhere this time of year, so Nike Sportswear went the extra mile and created a new design that you can’t miss. This new black and Dark Field Brown AF1 Duckboot at first appears similar to earlier editions like the Light British Tan makeup, but along with a slightly revised blocking pattern, this pair’s forefoot adds a reflective 3M treatment that makes these a must-have from NSW retailers like Extra Butter.

The Nike Air Force 1 is evolving – doing a bit of “growing up” in this 30th anniversary year. The evolution is set to take place across a number of models, from the Nike Air Force 1 Downtown to the Nike Lunar Force 1 Fuse, with each offering a new entry into the family of this classic basketball shoe. To celebrate this evolution and get folks oriented towards this “Future of Force”, Nike Sportswear brought out a select group of media outlets covering sneakers, urban culture, and everything in between to an event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Sneaker News was of course in attendance, bringing you a behind the scenes look here of everything from Deron Williams’ quick appearance to the awesome Pivot Point buildout.

Air Force 1 boot variations are among Nike Sportswear’s most popular hybrid styles, because they take the familiar Uptown’s personality and pollinate it with a special blend courtesy of classic menswear. But we’ve only been scratching the surface of what’s possible, as made evident by these new Nike Air Force 1 Duckboot iD samples from Tokyo’s Nike Harajuku. These push the envelope with bold ripstop nylon colors contrasted by simple base tones, and the result might be good enough to have you wishing for nasty weather. Get a look at some samples after the jump and you can design your own AF1 Duckboot available now as the December Air Force 1 offering on Nike iD.

We know that Uptowns aren’t typically the shoe you would throw on to get ready for the winter, but bear with us here. What if they were redone with added traction on the bottom? And tougher weather-ready options on the upper? Yeah…we thought so. Throw in some rounded boot laces to complete the outerwear look and you’ve got a banger on your hands. The Nike Air Force 1 High ‘Duckboot’ series has been one of the more exciting options from Nike Sportswear as of late, and this all black pair is a welcome addition to the family. Among the best side effects of the sneaker scene taking on a ‘mature’ lean in the days following 2008′s global financial meltdown has been the integration of tried and true styles with modern footwear technology. Twenty, ten, or even five years ago, it wasn’t exactly the coolest thing in the world if you got sent to school wearing a pair of duckboots to protect your everyday kicks from nasty conditions, but what was once seen as something of a punishment from well meaning parents has evolved into a sure sign of personal style with releases like the Nike Air Force 1 High ‘Duckboot’. These joints manage a perfect hybrid balance between the AF1 High’s classic basketball vamp and the rugged, waterproof boot for which it’s named, this Dark Army-toed edition suitably earthy so as to match almost anything in your outfit this fall. Click through to see more angles and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via SP
