Sneaker News has made a couple mentions of the Nike Air Force 1′s 30th anniversary overshadowing the Air Max 1′s 25th birthday, and what about that other alumni of the class of 1987? We know from our previews a short while ago that we’ll have a spread of Air Safari releases later in the year, and now even more of their signature look as the Air Force 1 iD adds Safari print options next month. As we see on samples of the High and Low versions, the traditional earthy spotted stuff will be among your choices, but what about all the crazy colors we saw starting back in 2008 from Nike Sportswear or more recently from the AF1 Bespoke Experience at their 21 Mercer flagship? Limited quantities of these dropping April 1st on NIKEiD will reveal the full answer, but in the meantime check out what we know to expect from these: black/grey/white with the option for a gum sole, or in other words, pure 2012 style with a bit of ’87 sampled out of respect to a fellow veteran.

Whatever happens in Vegas never truly stays there, does it? All the wild happenings will forever be embedded into memory – the paralyzing hangovers, the misguided decisions to get tattoos, and the random elopings are just some things you can never forget. El Cappy’s latest custom sneaker embodies the wild and party-like-a-rockstar vibe with his latest ‘Las Vegas Nights’ Customs of the Air Force 1 High, which features leopard print, elephant print, and a Louboutin-like treatment of the toe-box with studded spikes placed through the AF1′s perforated toe-box. Look familiar? Some of our readers on Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT have done the same to their Air Jordans! In any case, check out El Cappy‘s Air Force 1 High ‘Las Vegas Nights’ below and let us know what you think.

Given the friendly rivalry that exists between the super-fans for each of the Air Jordan Legacy silhouettes, is it possible that the Nike Air Force 1 has earned more devotees in its thirty years than any other single sneaker design in history? You don’t stay on top for three decades without having the style and substance to satisfy huge numbers of sneakerheads, and this new Nike Air Force 1 Lux Max Air from the Pearl Collection celebrates the AF1′s 30th anniversary by showing how far the cushioning system it debuted has really come. Tennis’ next grand slam doesn’t kick off until Memorial Day weekend, but here’s a major victory you’ll only have to wait until next month to relish. The next big thing in 1 of 1 Uptowns after January’s Elephant print extravaganza is the Nike Air Force 1 iD with ‘Tennis Ball’ options. These skip the obligatory Penn fuzziness and opt instead for multiple neon shades with a nicknamed tie in, along with a series of whites, greys and blacks. This means you can make your own ‘Dunkman’ or ’112′ AF1s, or even work in a white-to-black gradient and get a bit of Air Max 95 in there. These are sure to move quckly upon their midnight March 1st release; will you be waiting online to build yours on NIKEiD?

Team USA will lace up this August to defend their 2008 Gold Medal during the Summer Olympic Games in London, and if they keep the historic 1992 Dream Team in focus, they’ll have no difficulty in returning the prized Gold to U.S. soil. While the 1992 squad is best recognized as the ‘Dream Team’, there’s no doubt that the United States sends the most talented bunch of basketball players every four years, and the upcoming 2012 team has the high expectations of reaching or surpassing the record-setting success of the ’92 team that boasted names likes Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird.
To celebrate the ‘dream’ heritage of USAB, Nike Sportswear unveils the Nike Sporstwear ‘Dream Team’ Collection, which features five of the most memorable Nike Basketball selections of the past games and a special edition Nike Destroyer Jacket that pays tribute to the 20th Anniversary of the original Dream Team. Included in this pack (previously featured on Sneaker News) is the Nike Air Force 180 (Charles Barkley), Nike Air More Uptempo (Scottie Pippen), the Nike Shox BB4 (Vince Carter), and the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 as well as a Nike Air Force 1 High. When Sneaker News brought you images of the upcoming Nike Air Force 1 iD samples yesterday, all of them depicted a tonal, almost monochromatic elephant print in a variety of colors with but one single photo depicting the classic dark-on-light grey as was pioneered on the Air Jordan III OGs. Here’s an expanded look at that tonal grey and gumsoled approach to the Air Force 1 Low on NIKEiD, as well as a hightop version that goes with a translucent bottom instead. These two are quite similar, yet different enough to demonstrate some of the blocking options available on both heights when the super-limited 750-pair run opens on February 1st at midnight eastern. Will you choose suede on the rear quarter like the AF1 Low iDs, or maybe you wanna go from toe to heel in Elephant like the Highs? Get your drafts in order because there’s no time to waste once these go live, and click through to see some more of these samples in the meantime.
