The whole point of camouflage is to obscure one’s appearance, but the neutral colors used on the traditional four-color print also ensure that you’re going to see it (especially during the summertime) anywhere people are looking for a balance to their wardrobe and khaki just won’t cut it. So what started as a concealment technology has evolved beyond its practical survival/warfare benefits to confer a certain rugged appeal, and it’s with this context in mind that the Nike Air Force 1 Max Air VT bursts onto the scene as the fourth XXX Anniversary ‘Pearl’ collection drop. They take the AF1′s bar-setting heel cushion and expand it to the full foot, opting for a translucent midsole so that everyone who ‘can’t see’ your Uptowns will also be more likely to notice the unique VacTech build that accompanies this rare full-length cushion. A top-notch AF1 by any standard, these have already sold out at Japan’s mita sneakers; will you be fortunate enough to grab a pair when they hit 21 Mercer this Friday?

Gore Texer’s 1World Air Force 1 Lows covered in digi-camo were so coveted that getting your hands on one of the few pairs produced is more a matter of finding one up for sale than just affording the price tag. Nike Sportswear has a new offering that looks to one-up that instant classic by adding a full-length visible Air cushion and VacTech construction for that modern molded look. The Nike Air Force 1 Low Max Air VT brings all these features together into a continuation of the XXX Anniversary ‘Pearl’ collection that itself is sure to generate some availability concerns, but that’s just because all the biggest AF1 fans are going to have to get their hands on these immediately upon the release date. That point in the future remains to be determined, so stick with Sneaker News for updates and check out some more images of the ‘Camo’ Air Force 1 Low Max Air VT after the jump below.
