The old-school Jewel approach for the Air Force 1 continues with the introduction of two Mid-cut colorways. First off is the Navy/Orange joints, which only the most learned of AF1-fans will recognize as an OG colorway from the Jewel’s first intro in 1997, while the second Grey/Volt colorway adds a healthy dose of re-energy with a clean colorway. Need even more of that ‘Uptown’ class? Both feature the iconic NYC Swoosh logo on the short flap of the ankle-strap as well! mita-sneakers is stocking both right now and you can be sure to expect these at Nike Sportswear retailers soon.

Thirty is the ‘pearl’ anniversary, but that doesn’t mean the venerable Air Force 1 shouldn’t also give us gifts of silver. We’ve seen a few of the 25th anniversary pairs from 2007 in this week’s Classic Revisited feature highlighting the AF1 High and now a new Nike Air Force 1 Mid arrives with that silver celebratory look that’s also one of the iconic summertime colorways. But can/should you only wear these between Memorial and Labor days, maybe even only during major anniversary years? No way — the Air Force 1 and this palette in particular are a must for the dog days, so have a closer look and stick with Sneaker News for word on their US arrival. Photos: mita sneakers

Sneaker News hasn’t profiled a single new Air Force 1 Mid release since January, so not only is it great news that a new pair is dropping right now, but also that it’s being joined by another AF1 that’s likely the more popular silhouette. The Nike Air Force 1 Mid in white leather with select Dark Obsidian accents is blocked in the same pattern as a Vivid Orange-accented Air Force 1 High, both of which sport the Uptown’s most basic color-on-white scheme. These are indispensible summertime sneakers whose color pops only add wearability, and they’re available now from Foot Locker and their House of Hoops specialty locations.

Sneaker News has thoroughly covered the extent to which black/white sneakers, those featuring animal prints and other key trends are bubbling up in early 2012, but none of them will be remembered as strongly as the look that came and went in February without so much as an official retail release. The Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ is one of those ‘event’ sneakers you’ll be telling your grandkids about even if you don’t own a pair, and given the rarity of this stampede-inducing design during a time when custom sneakers are more popular than ever, we’ve seen quite a few artists try their hand at the ‘Big Bang’ look. The latest comes from Korea where a ‘Galaxy Force’ Nike Air Force 1 Mid has been created by applying an intergalactic print over top the traditional AF1 Mid lines, resulting in something like a VacTech treatment for this unique custom job. These have some steep competition in the ‘Galaxy’ customs category; where does this Air Force 1 Mid rank against all the other models carrying this motif? Let us know when you click through to see more and let us know if one of the five pairs to be created is worth importing when they release on April 7th. via The Creakers

The realm of the Nike Air Force 1 as of late has been characterized by graphical treatments, both through the custom creations we’ve seen as well as the in-house heat from Beaverton. Opting for a more straightforward approach is this Nike Air Force 1 Mid which has a distinct Valentines Day flavor to it. The strapped up look is getting increasingly uncommon so it’s always a treat when a mid pops up, and this one is accented nicely via the tumbled treatment towards the front, one of the more subtle upgrades available in the AF1 repertoire. Hit the jump for the full look and cop these now from the team at SneakersNStuff.

These days, Air Force 1 aficionados have access to a crazy range of bells and whistles when it comes to their favorite sneaker. Sometimes less is more though, and a little height adjustment along with the slick strap look goes a long way as on the Nike Air Force 1 Mid. This cargo colored pair goes a bit further than that, dropping in some boot laces and metal eyelets in the same vein as the grey/white pair we recently previewed. Continue reading for the complete look and stick with us for info on their US release date. If you can’t wait till then though, mita sneakers out in Japan has these now.

Of all the Nike Air Force 1 iterations we see, the mid version is certainly the one that pops up the least often. As a result it’s even less often that we see any kind of special release for the mids, although we were recently treated to a ‘Tec Tuff’ version of these strapped Uptowns. Following that tanked out pair is another that adds to the workwear/sneaker hybrid craze, this grey and white combo that boasts boot laces and hexagonal metal eyelets. Stick with us after the jump to get an in-depth look at this sturdy pair of Forces and let us know if they are on your radar. You can pick them up from mita sneakers in Japan now, or stick with us for info on a US release date.

Scuffs and scratches are bound to happen with kicks. Nike developed ‘Tec Tuff’ to fight that ailment. Problem solved. Last year, Nike Sportswear introduced a set of tonal colorways of the Nike Air Force 1 laced up with this new ‘Tec Tuff’ material; visually appealing, rugged to the touch, Tec Tuff was the perfect remedy for what we call normal wear and tear for Air Force 1s. Nike Sportswear recently added the Mid-cut to that set, and changed things up a bit by adding a Light Bone midsole for some contrast (to some, much-needed contrast). You can find these at Nike Sportswear retailers now, but get you Tec Tuff Mids now from shoejocky on eBay.
