The last few months of Air Force 1 Sneaker News has been dominated by Nike Sportswear’s Vac Tech releases and some insane new designs from the Bespoke program, just two of the countless branches on the Uptown family tree. One other such category was introduced about one year earlier than the VT joints, the Nike Air Force 1 Tec Tuff a winter-ready alternative to the boot-styled AF1s. This new Air Force 1 Mid comes in an entirely blacked-out design entirely comprised of the abrasion-resistant Tec Tuff material; does this Mid stack up favorably against 2010′s Lows and Highs? Click through so you can see more and then grab them straight from NikeStore or also on eBay.

Owing to the holiday’s connection with pumpkins and the generally jarring appearance of such a high-contrast combination, orange and black are the colorways most closely associated with Halloween. You can always get away with adding a bit of purple and maybe some green in there to get a Dia de los Muertes vibe going, but this new Nike Air Force 1 Mid for kids proves that with a little help, you can add something much springier like this pair’s Blue Glow accents. Without the special ‘scary’ tongue tag, you might see these as something like a blacked-out Miami Dolphins getup, but the fangs hook in the spooky backstory and your kids will be happy that this treat is now available when you ring the door at Nike Sportswear retailers like SNS.

Hybrid models featuring updated high-tech materials dominated Nike Sportswear’s Air Force 1 offerings for a while, but over the past week or so, we’ve noted a welcome increase in good ol’ fashioned Uptowns. The Nike Air Force 1 Mid is, of course, the least tenured of the three AF1 silos, but this new Mid look is undeniably dope in the same colorway we just saw on a Low release. The key difference, aside from height and strap, is the reversal of black and Anthracite elements atop the white base layer, a subtle yet significant switch that might make them both worthy of your hard-earned cash. Click through to see more angles and pick these up today from NSW retailers like Titolo.

Foot Locker is no stranger to sneaker-centric competitions, having just this year created a 3-point shootout online game and run a March Madness contest, but their latest was by far the most intensive. The Foot Locker Art Prize was dubbed ‘The World’s Richest Colouring Competition’ thanks to the $50,001 grand prize afforded to 24 year old Brisbane, Austrailia native Kalin Thompson on the strength of his ‘Forbidden Fruit’ work. The insane Nike Air Force 1 Mid Thompson design was hailed by noted customizer and artist Dave White as “A complete knockout,” and it earned him the cash prize along with a 1 of 1 Air Force 1 based on his work as designed by Sekure D. click through to see what 400 hours spent on a shoe design looks like and let us know how these works compare to the other sneaker-themed art we’ve seen here on Sneaker News. via SF

The low version of the Nike Air Force 1 is undoubtedly more ubiquitous, but there is something to be said for the mid with its extended ankle support and unique two-part strap. This new retro of the Nike Air Force 1 Mid comes in a palette similar to the classic white on white AF1′s, with the introduction of varying perforations polka dotting the white leathers of the upper. Then there are the deep sections of varsity red that show up the give these some color, found on the laces, side swoosh, outsole, and the Nike Air branding throughout. Follow us after the jump for a more detailed look at this Nike Air Force 1 Mid, which you can cop right now from Finishline.

As has been the case every year since its introduction, we’ve seen far fewer Nike Air Force 1 Mid colorways hit retailers in 2011 than either original Low and High silhouettes. And in this year where the ‘Cool Grey’ Air Jordan XI aftermath has lasted long enough to make you wonder if they’re set to be this holiday season’s big drop again, a majority of these new AF1 Mids have featured grey and white. Here’s another Medium Grey Air Force 1 Mid that differs from the pair issued earlier this summer by its use of a diagonally-oriented perforation grid on the underlay along with a denser texture on the overlay sections. Click through to see more angles and pick up a pair from Nike Sportswear retailers like Titolo.
