The collection of colorways of the Nike Air Griffey Max 360 continues with this rather subdued color-combo of Black/White-Wolf Grey – a true contrast in comparison to the Blue/Volt and Teal/Orange joints that have dropped in weeks prior. This one takes on the spirit of the Chicago White Sox uniforms (yeah, you don’t remember that Griffey was with the White Sox, do you?), with a Black/Grey speaking to the “Away” colorways that the old franchise dons outside of the Chi. One of the more interesting details of the newly released Nike Air Griffey Max 360 is that the special colorways have unique tongue labels that sorta match the colorway motif of each shoe. Some of the basic Team-style colorways have used a basic ’24′ logo, but this new Camo version uses a patch that states “Come Out Swinging” in black and beige. The entire composition of this new release uses themes of militarism, with Camouflage print paired up with the Dark Army and Birch. The Griffey line’s making another comeback in 2013 in new and original models – with the Nike Air Griffey Max 360 falling in the former category. This new White/Hyper Blue-Volt-Reflective Silver is similar colorway to the Air Griffey Max 1 that dropped a few years back, only these have a bit of Reflective Silver for some pop. The Nike Air Griffey Max 360 was already a bit of a head turning sneaker thanks to the 360 Air treatment running along the bottom, a choice that’s been a popular one for the Griffey line during its latest lifecyle. Taking things even further on the head-turning scale is this brand new colorway featuring burnt turquoise and total crimson. The sneaker is actually based on Griffey’s yacht ‘The Chosen One’ and a series in Florida where he opted to room on the yacht instead of with the team. The Griffey line has been a little quiet as of late, a silence that is finally being broken by this splashy colorway of the Nike Air Griffey Max 360. The pair has an almost ‘Southbeach’ looking colorway that apparently gets its inspiration from Ken Griffey Jr’s yacht that goes by the name of ‘Chosen One’. More specifically the inspiration comes from an incident wherein Griffey parked his yacht out in Fort Lauderdale during a series against the Marlins and opted to room there instead of in the team hotel. Driving that theme home is the tongue badge on that sneaker featuring a little yacht icon and that very nickname.
