In discussing our latest look at the Air Huarache Free 2012 earlier this morning, we noted that the Zoom Huarache 2K4 is noted for being one of this young century’s top basketball performance models. We also mentioned that the 2012s share a characteristic with another Huarache-infused basketball sneaker set to release next year, namely a flexible, grooved Free sole. The Nike Air Huarache Basketball 2012 takes a design element that’d merely been hinted at by the 2K series and makes it a reality with the first basketball-specific Free sole attached to a model based on classic Huarache styling. This white leather look with royal, purple and black accents is a bit of a throwback too, so click through to see more angles and let us know which of 2012′s Nike Huarache releases you’re most excited to own. via SF

Nike’s continual rehashing of classic models with newer performance tech for 2012 has brought back some Nike Basketball classics like the Nike Air Shake NDestrukt, which will return as the Nike Air Max Shake Evolve, and the Nike Air Huarache Basketball, which will also make comeback bearing the same name with the 2012 designation. The Air Huarache Basketball was already a design ahead of its time, but even in 2012, it still seems to be ‘out of this world’ with its funky, high-cut ankle and rigid heel-counter. The major differences you can expect with the Air Huarache Basketball 2012 is the basketball-specific Free-grooved sole, which allows for multi-directional flexion that better fits the game of basketball, and a new one-piece toe that forms a sock-like feel with the neo-prene ‘bootie’. Check out these four new Summer 2012 colorways below and let us know what you think. via CK.
