The recent launch of the Hennessy x Futura collection out in LA was a star studded event, one that brought out a good number of celebs who definitely do their thing with respect to sneakers. After all, Futura himself has been behind a good number of classic Swoosh sneakers so it would only be right to show up with some proper footwear. We’ll put Bun B at the top of the heap, already breaking out his pair of the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low collab for 2012. After that Tristan Wilds of The Wire fame rocks the Air Jordan III, Jesse Williams breaks out the just released Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse ‘OG Blue’, and more. The Hyperfuse news just keeps getting better. Last week we got the first word that this OG style Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse colorway would be releasing, albeit the only stockists to confirm were out in Europe. Then today word came down that rare Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse ‘Infrared’ would be seeing a wider retail release as well. Well it turns out the Air Max 1 of the group is indeed making its way stateside, as 21 Mercer has confirmed a release for this Saturday, July 21st. Click through for the extra angles on this Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse and let us know if you’re excited about the sudden appearance of all these OG styled Hyperfuse releases, and be sure to cop tomorrow at select Nike Sportswear retailers as well.

We get it, we get it, for some folks the whole futuristic approach of the Hyperfuse remix is a tad bit alienating, perhaps removing Air Max classics too far from their original context for comfort. OG styled colorways in that vein should ease the transition a bit then right? That was certainly the case with the drool inducing ‘Infrared’ Air Max 90 Hyperfuse from last year, a model succeeded by the Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse shown here with a combo borrowed from the original run. And what’s best of all is these are actually releasing, making their way across European retailers as we speak (Crooked Tongues expects to have them in some time next week). Click through for all the angles and lets pray this Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse makes it stateside.

As much as the various Nike Air Max silhouettes have been upgraded with the Hyperfuse treatment as of late they have managed to swerve around the OG colorways for the most part (save for that still so drool inducing Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse ‘Infrared’). Finally serving up something close to the original scheme of this Tinker Hatfield masterpiece is the pair shown, looking quite a big like the blue and whites of 25 years ago. Are you feeling the homage or do you think the Hyperfuse version should stick to contemporary looks and leave the rest alone? Let us know in the comments below and stay with us for word on whether this OG blue inspired Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse ever makes its way to the US (although they are currently available at Limited EDT if you’re out in Singapore).

Our friends in the UK are especially nuts about two things: trainers and football. Celebrating the 125th anniversary of Arsenal, footwear retailer 1948 will release an exclusive pair of the Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse decked out in some pristine detailing and one of the sickest commemorative boxes we’ve ever seen. The tongues feature ‘CXXV’ labels (125 for those who are rusty with their Roman numerals), and the lace dubrae depicts additional celebratory icons in 22ct gold (yes, gold), designed by Cartier jeweller Darren Sherwood. Just 25 pairs will be released at 1948 this Saturday, so check out the detailed images below and let us know what you think of the design!

Led by a few familiar faces, it’s time for the new generation of British ruggers to ‘blood the [UK] up.” It doesn’t get any more rough and tumble than the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and with four years worth of bragging rights on the line, England’s squad is focused on recapturing the title they failed to defend in the ’07 tourney. Nike has readied the Red Rose with dope new kits in white and black, echoing the simple beauty found on this ‘New Blood’ Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse iD. They’re dropping in London this weekend and are sure to sell out instantly, but it’s the exclusive ‘England Squad Pack’ that’s sure to have sneakerheads salivating for more. Paired with a set of Beats by Dr. Dre x Nike headphones and a dope special package, this set is only for the guys willing to go out there and lose a tooth for the trophy; would you make a similar sacrifice for this impressive ‘player exclusive’? Have a look at the ‘New Blood’ Air Max 1 Fuses after the jump and let us know if you’ll line up in the scrum outside Nike 1948 this weekend. via HB

On its surface, the Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse is the epitome of a simple yet satisfying combination: the melding of a well-seasoned running icon with a cutting edge fabrication technique resulting in a shoe that’s stronger AND lighter with better ventilation. But if you’ve been following the Nike Sportswear Hyperfuse hybrid collection on Sneaker News, you know that we’ve seen at least three other different takes on this black and Blue Glow colorway. The one pictured above is the final version NSW settled on amongst the ‘samples’, the design with the least grey out of the group whose blue mudguard matches its Swooshes. Click through for a closer look at the first Air Max 1 Fuse and grab a pair of these from select NSW accounts including End or get your pair now on eBay.

Nike Sportswear’s recent expo in England has left us with a new appreciation for how Hyperfuse technology will bring not only performance benefits but the opportunity for unprecedented colorways to some of the Swoosh’s all time classics. And don’t get us wrong, the ability to imagine all sorts of new gradients along the classic lines of your favorite silhouettes is tantalizing, but there’s no denying that we needed to see one of the original iconic looks to judge this latest mega mashup. And judging by the Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse in a style mimicking the OG Varsity Blue edition, this collection is of a quality befitting the rich legacies of the models involved. There’s a tiny 87-pair run of these being made, 3 of which will be given away by Sneaker Queen at the Formaganda tradeshow in Berlin. Click through to see some more images and let us know if you think the Air Max 1 Hyperfuse does the AM1′s OG Blue colorup justice.
