It was just yesterday that Sneaker News showed you a look at three upcoming Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse colorways slated to hit retailers next month, but given the relative lack of previews considering their fast approaching drop date, how about a closer look? Especially for fans of this quarter-century old classic, it’s hard to even imagine improving upon the Air Max 1′s impeccable design, but it’s hard to argue with the addition of ‘lighter’ and ‘more breathable’ to its extensive resume. It’s worth noting that NSW didn’t capitalize on one of the AM1s OG or otherwise classic colorways to debut this upgrade; will we come to appreciate these three on the level of the Varsity Red and Blue originals? If you were Nike Sportswear and had just won an all expenses paid vacation to the moon, and had already invited the Air Force 1, Dunk and Air Max 90, filling the fourth and final spot would be a no-brainer. Sure, there are quite a few classics in the Beaverton vaults and perhaps even more cult favorites, but how can you argue about bringing along the model whose technology gave the Swoosh a huge chunk of its very identity? And that’s where the Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse enters the picture, a combination of a nearly quarter-century aged classic runner with Nike’s newest materials and fabrication methods for a lightweight and breathable ride too comfy to ignore this summer. Click through for previews of three colorways set to hit retailers this July and let us know which pair(s) you plan to purchase. via FRESHNESS

Will it only be a matter of time until Hyperfuse becomes an tweakable option on Nike iD? We might have to wait just a little bit for that to happen, but here’s a look at three upcoming Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse colorways slated for a release later this year. The upper design remains unscathed, but the construction is completely redone with the super-lightweight and breathable Fuse material, using the thin shell to sustain the mudguard and the airy mesh on the remaining parts. Three colorways are to be expected – a silver/red, silver/yellow, and navy/grey/blue (similar to that sample we first showed you a year ago) – so take a look below for a look at all three and let us know what you think. via US11.
