The new kid on the block for the Nike Air Max 1 is the Jacquard build, which allows for a greater range of patterns and prints than the original build. To date the model hasn’t really been interested in merely riffing off classic AM1 colorways – instead the Nike Air Max 1 Jacquard has been blazing its own path. This pair for instance with its tonal grey and white doesn’t look immediately familiar, although there are definitely some similarly cool grey concoctions of the ’87 out there. Take a better look at them below and grab yours today from Oneness.

apc air max 1 summer 2014 A.P.C. x Nike Air Max 1 Returns for Summer 2014

A.P.C’s penchant for minimalist designs has been carrying over to their Nike collaborations for a while now. For Summer 2014 they’re taking another crack at the Nike Air Max 1, and they’ve again kept things pretty low key as far as materials and branding are concerned. The upper is mostly mesh and synthetic suede, with just a little bit of leather mixed in for the back end – and if you peer into the insides of the sneakers you’ll see their logo there as the only real bit of branding. Continue reading for the full images and watch for this new APC Air Max 1 to release this Thursday, April 3rd, in-store and online from APC for $120.

The Nike Air Max technology is nearly three decades old now, and has been through countless reworkings ever since Tinker Hatfield’s Visible Air creation was first introduced to the market. For 2014 Nike is introducing the Nike Air Max Breathe Collection, which will first equip the Nike Air Max 1, Nike Air Max Light, and Nike Air Max 90 with its breezy technology. The idea here is to maintain the original DNA of these classic runners while opening up the build a little bit to “keep your feet free from the oppressive summer heat”. Continue reading to see each of them and watch for the Nike Air Max Breathe collection to launch on May 1st, 2014.

Are you ready to pay $180 for a pair of Air Max 1s? That’s the question that’s being posed by this new pair, which is actually of the Nike Air Max 1 Jacquard persuasion. The build here is a bit more complicated than that of the suede and mesh original, so we can certainly understand where the new price point comes from, but will heads be willing to fork out the extra money for a shoe that strays so far from Tinker’s ’87 Nike masterpiece? Tell us what you think about that down in the comments after you browse the rest of the photos for this new set of Air Maxes, which will be available at Sneaker Politics on April 5th.

Are you feeling the Nike Air Max 1 Barefoot style? The Nike Air Max line has never been that focused on being a barefoot offering, especially since the Nike Free category emerged to really tackle that task, but in 2014 it’s apparently doing so. They don’t get any closer to barefoot along the bottoms though,; it’s mostly the upper that gets exposed to let a little bit more air in (We’ve also seen the sneakers billed as “Breeze” but we’re pretty sure that’s off). Click through to see all the photos on them after the break and stay tuned for word on a release over here in the states.

air max day Visible Heat: Nike Air Max 1 Gems Over The Years

Today, Nike Sportswear celebrated Air Max Day on a global scale with the original Air Max 1 at the center of attention. On this day twenty-seven years ago, Nike released the first sneaker with visible Air, and from that shoe an endless string of footwear followed. While the original Tinker Hatfield design popped up a few times throughout the 90′s, it was the 21st Century that revitalized the shoe and re-established it as one of the best sneakers ever created, and while the original “Sport Red” colorway still possesses the rebellious heritage of the brand, there were several other notables that made the Air Max 1 such an icon.
