In late April, Nike Sportswear celebrated a global holiday called Air Max Day – an event fabricated out of the love of Air Max sneakers. Globally renowned artist and customizer SBTG was given the task to present some altered Air Max 1s to help support the cause, and although the Air Max Day holiday is nearly two months old, we’re getting a first detailed look at SBTG’s personal flair on the classic Tinker runner. Along with the OG Sport Red Air Max 1, SBTG colored up three other Air Max 1 releases with each pair holding its own distinct camouflage pattern, leaving the pristine Air Max 1 upper relatively untouched (outside of the matching camo Swoosh logos and the SBTG branding). Check out the gallery of these incredibly customs below and let us know which is your favorite!

Sadly, the “Chili Red” Air Max 1 doesn’t get many mentions when it comes to naming the best AM1s of all-time. We haven’t seen them in stores for over a decade, and while it may be likely that Nike never revisits the colorway on an official scale, they will come close with new releases like this White/Crimson/Black pair that is hitting retailers around the workd. It’s got the same color-blocking as the Chili Red, with the black mudguard, grey quarter, and white mesh, but with a punchier Crimson Red accenting the shoe. Check out the extra shots below and look out for these at your local spot soon.

The Nike Air Max 1 received a grade school makeover recently, as the original Air Max model was introduced to smaller sizes for the first time not too long ago. Tinker Hatfield’s classic took off for the youngsters in a number of vibrant colors to attract the eyes, but recently they’ve also been subject to some subtle pairs to make the grown-ups a bit jealous. The latest example is this team orange and hyper cobalt aesthetic that pairs a white mesh base with blue suede overlays while yellow plays an accent role on the tongue logo and eyelets. Add in a team orange Swoosh and back heel branding and Nike has released another formidably subdued colorway for the kids. Be sure to grab a better look after the click and and pick up your pair from international retailer Titolo today.

The Nike Air Max 1 has been editing the color blocking atop the shoe with the likes of the “Split Sole” release, and even taking a two-toned approach by having¬†the¬†lower half of the sneaker hit with a seamless one shade to contrast fromt he base. That seems to be the go to look for this Summer, as Nike continues with that thought process upon this “Dark Dune” release. The sneaker gets a casual khaki base that alternates between mesh on the toebox and ankle while the main side panel and Swoosh get outfitted in suede, then the lower half surprises thanks to a vibrant teal while hyper punch lines sneaker. What do you think of the latest Air Max 1 release? Be sure to stick around after the click for a better view and while a release date hasn’t been set for a stateside drop just yet, you can grab a pair today via Titolo.

When thinking about the rare sneaker samples that had collectors in the frenzy over the last few years, the name of DJ Clark Kent immediately comes to mind. In 2009, the Brooklyn-based producer and DJ got the opportunity to collaborate with Nike for a special release commonly referred to as the “112 Pack”, which features the Air Force 1, Air Max 1, and Air Trainer 1 dressed up in an incredible combination of Volt tones, Elephant Print, and Reflective panels. The three details are indeed honored figments of legendary Nikes of the past, but to see them all together at once? Gotta give credit to Clark for that.

Nike Air Max 1 – Brown – University Blue – Volt

June 12th, 2014 by | No comments

nike air max 1 brown university blue volt 01 Nike Air Max 1 Brown University Blue Volt

Rarely does brown and a color as vibrant as Nike’s photo blue work well together, but the Swoosh then proved us wrong by even adding in a dash of volt just to prove us wrong atop their latest Air Max 1. This release falls somewhere between casual and head-turning which seems fairly traditional for their flagship air max runner as the brown shade that serves as a base is dark enough to pass for black at first glance and the lower half of the shoe gets served in blue. Add in a white midsole to separate the volt outsole, a shade that also lines the sneaker, and this is one of the odder releases in recent memory. As always, continue onward for a better look at the latest Nike Air Max 1 after the click and know that you can purchase this pair today via JD Sports.
