Nike Sportswear has gone all out with the Nike Air Max 1 “Air Max Day” release that’s coming up this week. Presumably created as part of the upcoming VIP event going down at UNDFTD is this special packaging, which places the pair in a big bubble rather than the standard box. The set is the sort that you’d probably want to keep on ice if you’re lucky enough to get a pair, as bubble is pretty much gone once you pop it. Is it considered blasphemous if we give any lip service to a non-OG Air Max 1 style in such close proximity to Air Max Day? We hope not, as there’s a new Nike Air Max 1 Breeze colorway that you need to be made aware of (We’ve seen some similar models labeled “Barefoot” Air Maxes). These sneakers have an almost Torch like build for the upper, one which allows for some interesting color layering this time around (Check out how that venom green peeks out from the upper’s white). Get familiar with this women’s release after the click and stay tuned to Sneaker News as we bring you info on their arrival in North America.

So far Nike’s Air Max Day celebration only has one pair lined up for release, the Nike Air Max 1 “Air Max Day” shown here. How awesome would it be though if they decided to drop a ton more silhouettes from the long history of bubbled sneakers? We’re pretty sure at this point that it’s not happening, but it would be cool to see a modern day “History of Air Pack” show up out of nowhere. Continue reading to see the on-feet photos for this upcoming Air Max 1 after the break and watch for Overkill to stock them next week.

Wieden+Kennedy showed off the sneakers in the controversial “Revolution” spot and the blazing bright red sneakers started to show up on the feet of runners around the world.
