Nike Air Max+ 2009 – Holiday 2013 Colorways

The Nike Air Max+ 2009 is a modern classic, the shoe credited with revitalizing the Nike Running Max flagship series.  The 2009 introduced the line to Flywire and a new full-length uncaged cushion that stayed in place for a few years and served as the foundation for 2013′s revision.  It makes sense in this context to see the Air Max 2009 given a treatment similar to earlier standouts like the Air Max 1 and 95, in that its retros have released with only the smallest gaps after the original product cycle concluded.  Two more pairs (one each for men and women) have just hit over in Asia, so stay tuned for Sneaker News for the latest and check these out in more photos below.

Nike Air Max+ 2009 – Midnight Navy – White – Soar

When the Nike Air Max+ 2009 popped up out of nowhere earlier this year, it brought to market two brand new colorways each emphasizing one single color with a few silver accents. The latest makes clear that pattern was just one of many available in that same ‘all-over’ range, a combination of Midnight Navy and Soar whose white side panel Swooshes and toe reflector are the only things on this shoe that aren’t blue. They’re an orange lace away from having that Oklahoma City Thunder look we’ve seen from some other models running these two blues in parallel, or as presented, one more in a long line of tonal time capsule pieces that will come to represent this period into perpetuity. Check them out in greater detail after the jump and hit up a Nike Sportswear stockist like Titolo to get yours.

Nike Air Max+ 2009 ‘Court Green’

February 17th, 2012 by | 2 comments

nike air max 2009 court green Nike Air Max+ 2009 Court Green

Like the Zoom Huarache 2K4 that returned first to NIKEiD and is coming up soon to retailers, the Nike Air Max+ 2009 is a recent standout that seems too young to be a retro candidate. But just as the 2K4s are widely acclaimed as one of this century’s very most comfortable sneakers, the Air Max 2009 made a huge splash when it resurrected the yearly flagship nomenclature and paved the way for the past four years of hits. And while the AM2009 iD’s gradient fade is quite impressive, the crisp construction of this new Court Green edition is equally outstanding in its own right. They use the same blocking pattern as the Action Red pair we showed you in January, quite the curious combo to release right after the Christmas season. The Varsity Royal version just dropped and there’s a black rendition of this style as well; which one’s the best of them all? Follow the jump below to continue reading for more images and look for this pair at Kicks-crew.

Nike Air Max+ 2009 ‘Varsity Royal’

nike air max 2009 varsity royal 3 Nike Air Max+ 2009 Varsity Royal

Too soon? No, we’re not talking about a risque punchline, but rather, a sneaker’s release cycle. Jordan Brand’s tendency to wait a good while before re-issuing a design and Nike Sportswear’s massive vault of untouched classics have sneakerheads expecting a decade or so before a retro revival is due, but a couple of standout models from the ’00s are getting an early tour of NSW retail spaces this spring. On the running side of things, we have the Nike Air Max+ 2009, which popped up to our great surprise in January with a brand new Action Red design and word of gradient options soon to arrive on NIKEiD. This new pair is obviously more like the former than the latter, its all-over Varsity Royal construction also similar to Court Green and black models dropping this spring. These are starting to arrive at NSW retailers all over, and you can see more angles below before you grab yours from NikeStore.

Nike Air Max+ 2009 iD

nike air max 2009 id 1 Nike Air Max+ 2009 iD

With the Air Max+ 2012 starting to hit retailers over the past week or so, word of a Nike Running flagship hitting NIKEiD would lead you to believe it meant the follow up to last year’s February 1st debut for the 2011s.  And while an AM2012 iD might indeed not be far away, it’s not that model that we’re discussing, but rather a return for the model that marked the reboot for the annual numbering system.  The Flywire-equipped Nike Air Max+ 2009 is a modern classic and now returns to NIKEiD after a little under three years away.  That’s a pretty rapid turnaround for the first ‘retro’ release, so much like the continued infatuation customizers show for the LeBron 8, this shoe is an impeccable design whose plethora of options necessitates another look.  Combined with new options like a toe-to-heel gradient and a ton of new colors and the second round feels just as fresh as the first.  A bunch of sample pairs await your click below, so let us know which is best and check these out before the January 27th release date sneaks up on us.

Nike Air Max+ 2009 ‘Action Red’

January 23rd, 2012 by | 1 comment

nike air max 2009 action red 11 Nike Air Max+ 2009 Action Red

It’s fairly common to see the cutting edge tech of the annual Air Max flagship from Nike Running stripped down as we get some leather releases toward the end of the product cycle, and any sneakerhead worth his salt knows all about the Sportswear division’s extensive archives.  But to see a model like this pop up just three years after its debut, already equipped for at least a small retro run — this is quite the rarity.  But you can’t argue with the result of this all-new Nike Air Max+ 2009 in Action Red, a colorway that would have served it quite well in the monstrous Air Attack Pack.  These joints kept the Flywire they introduced to the Air Max series instead of opting for a more lifestyle-oriented look; are you ready to take a short trip backwards through time?  If so, be on the lookout for these at select retailers like BX Sports in the Bronx.
