What kind of gift do you give the guy who has everything?  The kind of guy who’s earned $170MM over the course of his Hall of Fame career?  For New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, the Minnesota Twins answered in tribute by building a rocking chair from just a few of the bats the GOAT reliever has broken over these past two decades.  Rivera is a timeless wonder at age 43 and still going strong, and he accepted the token of appreciation in a slightly aged legend in its own right in the Nike Air Max+ 2011.  Take a look at Mo’s kicks and his spectacular new seat after the jump below and let us know where he and the AM2011 rank among baseball and running shoes’ all-time greats, respectively.

Nike Air Max 2011 – LeBron James White/Red PE

If LeBron James wanted a PE version of any sneaker, Nike would make it happen in an instant. We’ve already seen Air Foamposite Ones and Air Force 1s bearing his logos, but one of the first non-LeBron PEs that surfaced was this Air Max 2011, which LeBron was seen wearing from time to time. This version has a basic White/Red/Grey colorway with the LJ crown logo on the heel, much like that first red colorway we showed you back in April. Would you be open to a wider ‘LeBron’ collection of Nike footwear, like what was part of the LeBron James Pack last Holiday? Check out images below and let us know what you think.

Nike Running already proved they’re playing by new rules when they brought back the Air Max 2009 to NIKEiD so soon after a relatively quiet stint during the title year.  So while we wait for the Air Max 2012 to pop up with online customization options, it’s not entirely shocking that a new round of Nike Air Max+ 2011 iDs is also approaching.  These maximize the Hyperfuse upper with simple, crisp colorways that you can tag with your own custom heel branding.  They’re fairly subdued compared to the gradient options that just came up on the AM2009s; which of these equally trend-satisfying styles is your preference?  Let us know when you click through to see some of the possibilities before heading over to NIKEiD to design your own today.

nike air max 2011 black treasure blue 1 Nike Air Max 2011 Black Treasure Blue

The Nike Air Max+ 2011 was designed to go all the way. All the way from the starting line until you lap back around (and again), all the way from January to December, and across the entire spectrum from tonal and monochromatic designs to bold high-contrast colorways like the one pictured above. The combination of Treasure Blue and black is the kind of thing that’ll have you wondering if one more blue Zoom Rookie could be a good idea, and running would be a great way to spend the extra downtime you have now that we can only reminisce about the NBA. Get up and stay active this winter, and do it in style with these new Air Max 2011s from Nike Running retailers like FinishLine.

Nike Air Max 2011 – Iguana – Volt

November 9th, 2011 by | 6 comments

nike air max 2011 iguana volt Nike Air Max 2011 Iguana Volt

At a point in the year when the last few renditions had us enjoying casual leather looks and peering into the crystal ball for a peek at what’s next, the Nike Air Max+ 2011 continues to crank out the heat. The key with many of these especially dope recent drops has been tonal palettes, and even on paper this one appears strong thanks to the precedent set by an equally hot ACG Zoom Meriwether. The underlay of this Air Max 2011 is the classic Volt color instead of the newer High Voltage as in the case of those Meriwether boots, but both pairs show you how well vibrant yellow-greens pair with earthier verdant shades, and you can see more angles on this one after the jump below. Let us know how these rank in year when we’ve seen a variety of interesting renditions on the Air Max flagship runner, and grab a pair before they hit retailers thanks to Kicks-crew.

Nike Air Max+ 2011 – Black – Total Orange – Dark Grey

October 29th, 2011 by | 5 comments

nike air max 2011 ltr black orange mrsports summary Nike Air Max+ 2011 Black Total Orange Dark Grey

Nike has done the Halloween colorways more explicitly in the past, namely with the ‘Dia De Los Muertos’ Nike SB Dunk Low, but this season they’ve kept it simple with the clean combo of black/orange as a nod to October 31st. We saw the Nike Air Max 95 wearing this get up a few weeks back, and now the much more contemporary Nike Air Max+ 2011 dons the Halloween colors with a black upper that reps the ‘total orange’ on the swoosh, lining, and full-length Max Air unit. Follow us after the jump for more shots of this timely release from Nike Sportswear and grab them now from Nikestore.
