Sneaker trends are cyclical and what’s definitely making a steady comeback is the uber-colorful Air Max runner. This Summer season, Nike Sportswear will meet the demand for brightly-colored kicks with the ‘What The Max’ Pack, which features a rainbow of tones in three of its latest and revamped Air Max classics – the Air Max 2012, Air Max 90 Hyperfuse, and Air Max 95 360 (also known as the Air Max 95 BB). The perfect appetizer to what will be a Summer’s worth of Olympic-inspired releases, the entire Nike Air Max ‘What The Max’ Pack will hit select Nike retailers on Saturday, May 19th.

It’s common practice for a sneaker to go by two different names, and so the previously dubbed ‘Olympic’ Pack now has an official Nike-appointed name – the Nike Sportswear Air Max ‘What The Max’ Pack. The ‘What The-’ alludes to a hybrid of sorts like the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘What The Dunk’, but the ‘What The Max’ merely ties in bold neon colors in the layered Hyperfuse construction to give all three sneakers involved a chaotic (yet controlled) appeal. The entire Nike Air Max ‘What The Max’ Collection has already hit retailers in Japan, but stay tuned for a global release this month. Detailed shots below, so take a look and let us know which of the three you like best, and stay tuned because there’s another member of this ‘What The’ Hyperfuse collection that’ll be revealed very soon!

LeBron James has a pair of Air Forces on the way, why not Maxes too? Just days before the King James/Black Mamba Pack of Air Force 1s hits retailers this Saturday, we have a look at a Nike Air Max+ 2011 that’s arguably even more custom tailored to LeBron. The relatively simple white-on-red design evokes memories of the recent ‘Christmas Day’ Nike LeBron drops while the ‘LJ’ crown insignia on the heels applies the finishing touch on a design that’s just as ‘Cincinnati’ as it is MIA. There’s also the potential to see a slight Miami of Ohio tie-on, which seems appropriate for Akron’s most famous son and a guy who still carries the 330 in his Twitter handle. Click through to see more of what ‘Bron just tweeted and stick with Sneaker News for more rare player exclusives.

Late last week, Sneaker News showed you three different Nike Air Max Quickstrikes decked out in the colors of the Olympic Flag, the shared color scheme among these Hyperfuse-uppered lowtops sufficient evidence to conclude they’re part of a larger whole. This ‘Olympic’ Air Max pack includes the Nike Air Max+ 2012 flagship as well as the refreshed Air Max+ 95 BB and Air Max 90 Hyperfuse, all decked out in primary colors with just a hint of the blending capabilities Fuse layering offers. These are all quite eyecatching and show off where Nike Running has traveled over the past two-plus decades, but how do they match up to the Dream Team/USAB tributes Nike Sportswear has in store? Let us know which ‘five-ringed’ style you prefer when you click through for more shots of these and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability. Photos: mita sneakers

Has the Nike Air Max+ 2012 helped you make good on your New Year’s Resolutions? The latest Air Max running flagship has been going strong with new colorways since its January lanuch, so even if you haven’t been eating more vegetables or learned how to pull off that elusive cartwheel, Nike Running still has a few more motivational tricks up its sleeve. So between designs like these and the truly blended AM2012 colorups, we have quite a few options when it comes to novel color combos; how does this style compare to all the others? You’ll see more images after the jump to aide your decision, then look for these at select retailers like FinishLine.

We’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Nike’s plans for the 2012 Olympic summer, and while the nostalgia associated with the Dream Team releases is growing to off-the-charts levels, one need only remember how much ground Lunar foam has covered since ’08 to recognize that it’s the cutting edge performance models that really shine on the stage of international competition. The Nike Air Max+ 2012 will be at the very foundation of countless Olympic hopefuls’ training this year, the pair pictured above a green shade away from mimicking the Olympic Flag’s famous five rings. These follow join the Air Max+ 95 BB and Air Max 90 Hyperfuse with similar looks this spring; which of these Fuse-uppered ‘Olympic’ Air Maxes will you choose? Let us know as you click through for more images and stick with Sneaker News for word on a potential US release for this design arriving at atmos girls next Saturday, April 28th.

A Chrome Yellow and black Nike Air Max+ 2012 hit retailers about a month ago without any sort of connection to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, so what are Nike and LIVESTRONG working with as their base palette these days? Lance’s Tour de France-leading yellow is still present on the LAF tongue tag, but just as was the case with the LIVESTRONG Free Run 2 that dropped back in January, the focus on this pair is blue(s). These AM2012s mix Prism and Deep Royal blues for a watery mix that reminds us of Armstrong’s recent triathlon experiences (though fans of the sport will be quick to note that swimming and running are separated by Lance’s specialty). Check them out in greater detail below, then grab a pair of the LIVESTRONG Air Max+ 2012 from Finish Line.

The most recent Nike Air Max+ 2012 colorway to hit retail was a Dark Grey and Crhome Yellow combo that demonstrated how the latest Air Max flagship runner’s layered build can facilitate some high contrast styles. That same Hyperfuse construction also lends itself to some of the more unique styles we’ve seen, this new Volt and Spark Blue edition a fulfillment of the promise made by those color-blended Hyperfuse collection samples from NSW last summer. They’re the opposite end of the spectrum from one of the initial pairs that combined University Red with Volt; do you prefer this more laid back approach? Let us know when you click through for more images and grab yours at Nike Running retailers like Social Status.
