It’s quite strange to consider that over six weeks have passed since the Nike Air Max+ 2012 debuted, yet we haven’t seen any new pairs in the interim and have instead been treated to the 2009 and 2011 models. But we’re all for the increased variety on store shelves, and that includes this new Air Max 2012, a Dark Grey and Chrome Yellow combo that only has black on its Swooshes but still manages that Steel City look with a workmanlike, almost industrial vibe. Have a closer look below and look up your local Nike Running retailer to find stores like Sneaker Bistro carrying these right now.

After a five-year hiatus, the annual Nike Air Max flagship release returned to the year-designated model name in 2009 – and it certainly picked the perfect time to do so. Nike unveiled the new full-length and un-caged 360 Max Air unit on the Air Max 2009, and since then it’s been relied upon as the pillar of the rejuvenated Air Max franchise. The latest of the legacy is the Air Max 2012, that once again features the 360 Max Air, but with a completely re-designed upper that blends Hyperfuse and a inner mesh sleeve for a lock-down foot. There’s a full rainbow of releases for both the men and women (previewed in full on Sneaker News) so replenish your Air Max collection with the Nike Air Max 2012 tomorrow when it officially hits Nike retailers.

Taking nothing away from the specacular technological innovations the series has spearheaded in recent years, but it’s been a few years since a signature colorway for the ages has emerged. Each year’s AM flagship raises the bar in comfort and performance, but with legends like the ‘Infrared’ Air Max 90 and ‘Neon’ Air Max 95 having laid the very foundation of the sneaker scene we know inhabit, it’s pretty difficult to make that same kind of impact that’ll have sneakerheads talking about a release for decades to come. But we might just have something of that cailber with this new Nike Air Max+ 2012 in white, black, Volt and University Red. These have a screamingly ostentatious build that picks up on the kind of Hyperfuse color blending we saw from Nike Sportswear’s hybrids last summer, but this STOP! and GO! combination is not only eyecatching but also supremely original. Click through for some new images and look for these at your local Nike Running stockist like Lexington, KY’s Oneness.

Okay, so January was fairly tame for sneaker releases – consider it a nice ‘diet’ from the overindulging brought on by the Holiday months. The Nike Free Run+ 2 introduced this familiar upper design, in which the Design Leads used the anatomy of the foot to create that truly ‘barefoot’ running motif. Using a well-ventilated mesh upper as the base layer, the Free Run+ 2 truly created that no-frills running experience, but there are those who have grown accustomed to the ‘Walking On Air’ cushioning provided by Nike’s award-winning Max Air technology. For the 2012 Air Max flagship, the designers have transplanted that familiar anatomical foot construction with the Walking On Air 360-degree unit to create a brand new sensation of comfort and performance, and this February, the men will have nine insane colorways to choose from – your basic Black/Whites to your high-energy Bright Mango/Bright Blues. We’ve got a thorough look at the nine February releases below, so take a good look and let us know which of the nine catches your eye.

In 1996, Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with cancer. A few years later, he embarked on a legendary run of seven-straight Tour de France titles. In what might be the greatest personal come-back in the history of sports life, Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France domination served as an inspirational tool to the millions suffering from cancer, but Armstrong had ‘support’ in his mind earlier, as he started the Lance Armstrong Foundation on January 8th, 1997. Nike has been a long-time supporter of the foundation and has committed itself to Lance as an athlete and an advocate, and today, they celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the Lance Armstrong foundation by releasing a limited edition set of apparel. the Nike Air Max 2012, Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid (not picture), Nike WMNS LunarFly+ 3, and Nike WMNS Free TR Fit 2 are featured as the highlight footwear pieces of this great collection, which should go on sale very soon. Continue reading for a look at the footwear as well as a list of fifteen ways to ‘LIVESTRONG’.

The Nike Air Max+ 2012‘s Hyperfuse construction allows for unprecedented blending as in the case of the bold red/Volt pair or that cotton candy-looking WMNS drop we previewed a couple weeks back, or you can go in a different direction and make everything opaque while still emphasizing the shoe’s layered build. This new Air Max 2012 comes through with two tones of grey serving as the backdrop for a mango orange top layer that finds its exuberant shade reflected on the full-length Max Air cushion. As with the aforementioned translucent designs, this new mango AM2012 sets the bar for the more traditionally colorblocked end of the spectrum, which means all that’s left is for a pair or two to offer some full transparency. Would you want clear running shoes, or did Nike get it right with an opaque range to compliment the blended pairs? Let us know what you think about all the upcoming Air Max 2012 colorways after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates. via Sneaker Freaker
