The Nike Air Max 90 Sneakerboot was certainly not a model that anyone had anticipated ending up in the “Country Camo” series of releases. And yet here it is, arriving months after that theme was initially put to rest. This particular release is of the USA persuasion, check the tongue on the insole, and features a rather light set of colors when it comes to the patterns placed on top of the sneakers. Nike Air Max 90 Essential – White – Grey – Black – Red

January 13th, 2014 by | No comments

nike air max 90 essential white grey black red 01 Nike Air Max 90 Essential White Grey Black Red

Any time a Nike Air Max 90 release mixes white, tonal greys, black and a bright red, it is going to draw comparisons to that iconic 1990 original colorway called ‘Infrared’. This one is an especially good example, with tons of overlap between the OG Infrared blocking and the way this new Air Max 90 Essential has been laid out. The key differences would be red inside the Air bubble instead of its sweeping frame, white on the ‘AIRMAX’ badge right above that, and red on both plastic eyestay elements instead of just the bottom. In other words, these are very close but still a fresh twist on a classic style, and they’re yours for the taking now at NSW doors like SNS.

The Nike Air Max 90 is a style that’s long been around on NIKEiD, but it’s not one that gets the benefit of upgraded options as often as say, the Nike Air Force 1. Fortunately it’s getting a little bit more love in 2014, starting with the addition of options for separate sole kits. Arriving right after the launch of the Nike Air Max Lunar90 is the choice for a Lunar platform for the silhouette-and there’s also the Nike Free one if you want a bit more flexibility (Not to mention glow in the dark versions of each). Air Superiority: Nike Introduces “ICE”, “Lunar”, and “Jacquard” to the Air Max 90

nike air max 90 lunar jacquard ice 01 Air Superiority: Nike Introduces ICE, Lunar, and Jacquard to the Air Max 90

The Air Max 90 silhouette is arguably the most popular model of the Air Max line. While Air Max 1 loyalists or fans of later models adapting larger, more voluminous Air bubbles may oppose that statement, the 90 is what made the entire line such a massive hit on an international scale. This month, Nike is bringing three new viewpoints of the silhouette with the Air Max 90 ICE, Air Max Lunar90, and Air Max 90 Jacquard, with each model boasting its own unique advantage; the Lunar90 brings  no-sew construction, a compression-molded collar, and the famed Lunar cushioning, the Jacquard makes use of the centuries-old weaving process and a Free-grooved forefoot, and the ICE amplifies the striking visual of the clear sole inspired by the FuelBand of the same name. All three version will hit this month – the Lunar90 and Jacquard arriving this Friday, January 3rd and the ICE hitting retailers on the 25th, so check out the high-def gallery below and let us know which of the three you’re feeling the most.

Nike Air Max 90 Premium – Night Factor – Volt

December 30th, 2013 by | 1 comment

nike air max 90 prm night factor volt 01 570x424 Nike Air Max 90 Premium Night Factor Volt

Expect more Nike Sportswear Air Max classic runners with two-tone midsoles in 2014. This trend we’ve seen ramping up over the past few months is actually a natural extension of the Nike Air Max 90‘s original tooling, so it looks especially good on this new combination of Night Factor and Volt. The all-suede upper is a good choice for the late winter into spring, and the navy blue/neon combination, as seen with last year’s ‘Squadron Blue’ Air Jordan XIII, is a colorway that seems to work particularly well that time of year. Click in for a closer look, let us know what you think and consider a pre-order ahead of the February shipment from Afew.
