The recent ‘What the Max’ drop showed off the Nike Air Max+ 95 360‘s incredible capacity for intricate colorblocking, its tiered look the next logical step from the mass of gradient designs that continue to typify the original AM95 silhouette. Take that step in a slighty different direction, and you end up with a design like this new Air Max 95 BB, one that sees new potential in the upper’s distinct ‘ribs’ thanks again to the power of Hyperfuse construction. So instead of a gradient marking the entire length of ‘muscle fibers’, these grey and Volt 95 360s apply a fade to each of the neon columns laid atop a base that offers a grey-dient in its own right. This is next gen ‘Neon’ and it’s available now at select Nike Sportswear shops like Mr. R. Photos: ITSB

This year’s flagship is a performance-oriented world-beater, the Air Max 1 is celebrating its 25th anniversary and plenty of more obscure classics have come out of the Nike Sportswear vault in recent months, but can any of those lines match the energy behind the Air Max 95 family right now? Not only are new colorways consistently hitting retailers, but we saw got both No-Sew and Hyperfuse-constructed pairs debut a short while back. The latter of those, Nike Air Max+ (95) 360 is such a perfect progression from the original that even hardened purists can find merit in the new gradients its synthetic upper makes possible. This white and grey edition is a prime example of which you can see more images below, then be sure to check back with Sneaker News for updates as we approach the June 7th drop date.

The Air Max 95 is about to turn eighteen next year but we’ve been treated to a couple revisions in 2012, one of which is currently setting Japan ablaze. The Nike Air Max+ 95 BB is off to a strong start thanks to collaborations with two of Tokyo’s top sneaker boutiques, one of whom even went so far as to create a special display for all of Nike Sportswear’s Air Max classics in honor of their BBs. atmos‘ new Air Max+ 95 BB headlines a group that includes the ‘What the Max’ Fuse set in addition to new 95 No-Sews and AM90 Hyperfuses. One of the more intriguing elements therein compares the modern full-length Max Air cushion that debuted in 2009 to the original encapsulated airbag hidden away on pre-Visible Air drops like the Tailwind. It’s crazy to see how far Nike has come in two decades in just those two frames, then zoom out and see even more of this incredible journey on display (and you can even buy them!). Check it out in greater detail below, let us know how this compares to the most impressive in-store display you’ve seen and stick with Sneaker News for more insights on the Japanese sneakerhead scene.

One key reason the Nike Air Max 95+ BB is winning over the masses including typically staunch purists is new ‘abilities’ like the style pictured above, conferred by the miraculous synthetic construction that is Hyperfuse. 360-degree Max Air on the cushion ain’t bad, either, so when you combine these with the familiar greys and neon that made Sergio Lozano a name no sneakerhead could ever forget, we’re looking at a clear case of technology opening doors to new aesthetic potential. Click through for some more images of the ‘Neon’ Air Max+ (95) 360, let us know how this ‘pillared’ look compares to the newfangled gradient found on mita’s ‘Neo Escape 2.0′ and look for this Volt-accented edition at Nike Sportswear retailers starting May 31st.

It’s common practice for a sneaker to go by two different names, and so the previously dubbed ‘Olympic’ Pack now has an official Nike-appointed name – the Nike Sportswear Air Max ‘What The Max’ Pack. The ‘What The-’ alludes to a hybrid of sorts like the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘What The Dunk’, but the ‘What The Max’ merely ties in bold neon colors in the layered Hyperfuse construction to give all three sneakers involved a chaotic (yet controlled) appeal. The entire Nike Air Max ‘What The Max’ Collection has already hit retailers in Japan, but stay tuned for a global release this month. Detailed shots below, so take a look and let us know which of the three you like best, and stay tuned because there’s another member of this ‘What The’ Hyperfuse collection that’ll be revealed very soon!

Just what kind of escape is this? Running away from greatness, toward more greatness? The mita sneakers x Nike Air Max+ 95 BB ‘Neo Escape 2.0′ has been able to accomplish a task at which many of the earlier BBs had failed, namely, converting purists into believers thanks to the beautiful blue gradient that marks the Hyperfuse-constructed uppers. These showcase the 95 BB’s strengths in a more uniform way than the ‘Olympic’ colorway that we’ve previewed a couple times in recent weeks, but which one would you be more likely to purchase? This one’s going to be tough to get your hands on and we expect them to move from Japan’s mita sneakers just as quickly as they’ve arrived.

Saturday was huge in the US with the Nike Basketball Elite Series dropping alongside notable releases like the Lunar Woven Flow Quickstrike and Nike x NFL Draft Pack. Japanese consumers don’t have the same affinity to that football-themed mega-set, so perhaps it was with the huge stateside drop in mind that Japan got a set of Nike Air Max+ 95 BBs that we’re still waiting for in the States. One pair that both sides of the Pacific eagerly await is this ‘Olympic’ Air Max 95 BB, a colorful design modeled after the Olympic Flag and its five rings. There are similar Air Max 90 Hyperfuses and Air Max+ 2012s on the way; which one carries the torch from this London-leaning trio? Let us know what you think of these when you’re on the other side looking at additional images, and be sure to check back with Sneaker News for release info. Photos: Bingo
