Ready for some more Nike Tennis fire? The Nike Tennis Flame Collection pays tribute to the original “burning ball” logo that was seen on the Air Tech Challenge, sparking a mass collection of energetic and fiery colorways of footwear and apparel. This 2012 version relives that early-90′s heat with the Nike Tennis Flame Pack, featuring the Zoom Vapor Tour 9, Air Max Courtballistec 4.3, and Zoom Breathe 2k13 in a fierce colorway inspired by that burning ball logo. We recently previewed these as the ‘Agassi’-inspired releases (which is accurate), and it appears that the shoes and the t-shirt will hit stores on November 1st with Federer wearing his Tour 9s in London. A gallery is right ahead so take a look!

While the overall popularity of contemporary tennis shoes hasn’t reached the levels of Nike’s earliest Tennis endeavors with the Air Trainer 1 and Agassi line, the footwear line-up – namely Federer’s Zoom Vapor Tour 9 and Nadal’s Air Max Courtballistec series – is the undisputed number-one in the world. Two of the sport’s most successful athletes wearing the Swoosh will lead to some outstanding products, but we’re in for a special treat with this sick duet of Nike Tennis models colored up “Agassi” style. Both models feature a unique splatter graphic on the heel, reminiscent of the punchy graphics seen on Agassi’s Tech Challenge series. These are slated to release in early November, so check out the gallery below and let us know if you think Nike should toy around more with a “old meets new” concept for these underrated tennis models.

Yeah you’ve got the whole Olympic fanfare set to take center stage in just over a month but before that gets underway London will, as always, play host to the oldest tennis tournament in the world. That tourney is the Championships at Wimbledon, a municipal area bearing the postal code SW19 which Nike has conveniently borrowed to name the collection of gear they’ll be dropping for the event. Focusing on the footwear side of things we’re looking at a new colorway of the Tinker Hatfield-helmed Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9, along with some tennis-court clean versions of the Nike Lunar Speed 3, the Nike Air Max Courtballistec 4.3, and the Nike Zoom Breathe 2K11. Stay with us after the jump to check out each and let us know if you plan on picking up anything from the Nike SW19 colleciton.

It only happens a few times each year, so you know when Sneaker News turns our attention to cutting edge tennis shoes, we’re getting close to a Grand Slam event. The Australian Open is the first of the four major tournaments each year, and Nike’s sending two of the top three men, two of the top five ladies and two up and comers in fresh new gear. Arguable GOAT and four-time Aussie winner Roger Federer gets a Swiss-style kit along with neon accents on his Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9, while arch nemesis Rafael Nadal opts for green on his shirt but more of a focus on bright blue with the latest Air Max Courtballistec 4.3. Young Croation Bernard Tomic proved with his upset of the 22 seed in Round 1 that he’s deserving of recognition if not yet a signature sneaker, as is the case for ladies 5-seed Na Li. Nike keeps the WMNS side on equal footing thanks to a new Air Max Mirabella 3 for Serena Williams along with Maria Sharapova’s Lunar Speed 3 lowtops. Click through to check out the entire collection and let us know who your money’s on down under.

#2 Seed Rafael Nadal is on a mission to defend his U.S. Open Title, and coming out on top might mean re-capturing that #1 seed from Djokovic. Nadal, who already won a Major at Roland Garros and was the runner-up at Wimbledon, will likely face #1 ranked Novak Djokovic or #3 ranked friendly nemesis Roger Federer in a dream-scenario Final at the Open. While we already know what gear Nadal will be wearing (the Air Max Courtballistec 3.3), here’s an advanced look at next year’s gear – the Nike Air Max Courtballistec 4.3. It features the same cage-ventilated DragOn 2X upper with a lightweight Hyperfuse-like material by the Swoosh – all supported by Max Air and Lunarlon cushioning. Continue reading for further detailed look at the Courtballistec 4.3 and the accompanying Nadal Polo and let us know what you think. via CK.
