Right at the last minute a Nike Air Max Hyperposite has joined the ‘Area 72′ group that Nike whipped up this year for the 2013 NBA All-Star. The midsole features a pretty similar look to that found on the Nike LeBron X ‘All Star’, but the upper couldn’t be any more different in terms of colors. Spotted there is a mixture of crimson and citrus peeking in through the crackled graphics. Check out the Nike Air Max Hyperposite ‘All Star’ after the jump, which is actually up for grabs right now from id4shoes on eBay.

With the NBA All-Star Game ready to kick off in just two days, we’re starting to zero in on all the shoes that quite haven’t been uncovered. Here we’re getting a first look at the Nike Air Max Hyperposite designed with the All-Star theme of ‘Area 72′ in mind; it features that outer planet colorway of hot red tones with a dried surface detailing set to mimic the outer face of Mars, completing that theme of unknown aliens that have touched down in Houston. These will be potentially worn by Nike All-Star athletes like LaMarcus Aldridge, Chris Bosh, and David Lee (three guys who have been rotating the Hyperposite all season long) so check out the gallery below and purchase directly from shihguy on eBay.

Rajon Rondo’s best individual season to date was cut short yesterday when news of a torn ACL (an injury that takes up to a year to fully recover from) placed a dark cloud over the Boston franchise. The immediate future of Boston’s Playoff hopes has gotten considerably bleaker as the Eastern Conference All-Star guard is now forced to watch his struggling team from the sidelines, but Rondo’s work ethic should have him back on the court at 100% sooner than expected. Rondo, who is certainly out of that signature-sneaker range and more in the PE category, made more headlines than any other NBA player thanks to his surprising rotation of footwear, which we feel deserves a thorough viewing in light of the recent events.

More Black History Month colorways of Nike Basketball’s line-up continues to trickle out as we get a first look at the Nike Air Max Hyperposite ‘BHM’. The Hyperposite has been a wildly popular shoe among Nike’s Forwards like Rudy Gay, LaMarcus Aldridge, Al Horford, and more, but even some smaller guards have gotten in the Hyperposite camp (Rondo wearing those Grey/Atomic Green joints). Keep your eye out for the Nike Hyperposite ‘BHM’ during today’s games, but get a first look here!

For better or worse, 2012 was a defining year for the sneaker world and all that it encompasses. It was a year that saw certain shoes throw the laws of supply and demand so out of whack, that brands and retailers had to completely rethink the way they sell shoes to the public just to keep the peace. If you were willing to put in some legwork or, better yet, had the right connections, it was a banner year for sneaker enthusiasts. “Must-have” releases seemed to be at an all-time high and nearly every weekend offered up some sort of temptation for consumers. 2012 saw the release of some of the most eagerly anticipated and passionately sought-after sneakers the game had ever seen and it’s safe to say that things will never be the same again.
In between those, there were plenty of other desirable targets along the way, from the special limited editions and collaborations to beloved Retro returns and promising new designs and innovations. There were even a few certified sleeper hits that organically carved out their place among the year’s best releases. Due to an exponentially expanding consumer base and a heightened level of product awareness, you might not have been able to get your hands on every shoe you hunted for in 2012, but there was certainly no shortage of solid alternatives ripe for the picking in their absence.

We started things off with Ray Allen’s Air Jordan XVIII and XX showing from earlier today, but Rajon Rondo and Chris Bosh deserve some welcome nods for their Christmas-day heat! Both players wore PE colorways of the Nike Air Max Hyperposite – Rondo in a clean mint green/grey/red colorway and Bosh taking on a color-combo similar to LeBron’s Nike LeBron X ‘Christmas’. We’ve got additional in-game shots as well as close-up views of these clean PEs below, so give them a review and let us know which of the two you like better!

In late August, Nike Basketball presented the ‘Battle of the Boroughs’ at its seasonal hooping court on Rivington St. in the Lower East Side. During the event’s championship match-up team Harlem and team Brooklyn suited up in some insane Hyperposites with colorways inspired by the city; last November, Nike Basketball released the much-praised Statue of Liberty joints, but no release information has been confirmed regarding the blue/orange pair. Perhaps these may never make it out to store shelves, considering the ‘STAT’ PE has already released? If you’re hunting around for these traditional NYC joints, cop this rare size 10 right now from lucious2323 on eBay.

The Nike Air Max Hyperposite is set to release tomorrow in another dope, graphics-based colorway. That would be the cargo khaki colored and camo flavored pair pictured here. Do you think these can eclipse the success of the ‘Statue of Liberty’ version that brought so many more on board with this futuristic design? Drop us your thoughts in the comments and watch for the Nike Air Max Hyperposite ‘Tiger Camo’ on Nikestore tomorrow, and at spots like 21 Mercer come Saturday.
