August 15th, 2011 by | 18 comments

nike lebron 8 vii 112 comp 10 Nike LeBron 8 vs. LeBron VII 112 Comparison

Last week featured some great Nike LeBron 8 samples in the form of a classic denim colorway as well as DJ Clark Kent’s celebrated ’112′ theme. Here we have a detailed look at the latter version as well as a quick side-by-side comparison with the Nike Air Max LeBron VII ’112‘ – a shoe that, like the LeBron 8 ’112′, never released to the public. We can see the recurring themes, like the black/grey/volt color scheme and the use of elephant print and 3M-reflective material, so which of the two is better comes down to which model you prefer. The Air Max LeBron VII’s got the sleek volt-colored Flywire on the upper, while the LeBron 8 has healthy helpings of elephant print on the No Flywire panels. Check out the extra comparison shots below and let us know which version you prefer. via lilpennymagicfan on ISS.

Celebrity Feet: Wale – Nike Air Max LeBron VII ‘Christ The King’

August 12th, 2011 by | 60 comments

celebrity feet wale nike lebron vii ctk summary Celebrity Feet: Wale Nike Air Max LeBron VII Christ The King

Celebrity sneakerhead and hip-hop artist Wale is known to rock some sneakers well in advance of release dates, but his latest appearance, which was for a live performance at the Heineken Red Starr Access Present Roc Nation event in Philly, wasn’t exactly of the ‘these ain’t out yet’ category. “Matching” his throwback Padres uniform and military-inspired pants was the Nike Air Max LeBron VII ‘Christ The King’ PE, a sneaker that released at House of Hoops locations last year. Despite having a connection with the prep school in Queens, NY, the Christ The King LeBron VII was widely popular for its resemblance to the Cavaliers’ wine/gold jersey colorway, and clearly Wale as a soft spot for these because he definitely dug deep in his sneaker closet for these. Check out Wale and his LeBrons after the jump and let us know what you think.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Hyperfuse ‘HWC’ PE

June 6th, 2011 by | 21 comments

nike air max lebron vii hyperfuse hwc pe 07 Nike Air Max LeBron VII Hyperfuse HWC PE

We’ve seen more unreleased versions than released versions of LeBron James’ sneakers, but most of those samples and PEs were brand new colorways. Here’s a look at a never-before-seen Air Max LeBron VII Hyperfuse, which features the lightweight material on the upper, taking the place of the Flywire shell seen on other Air Max LeBron VII releases. The bottom end of the shoe features the same AMLVII construction, with a patent leather mudguard and 360-Max Air sole, but the upper is given a considerable weight reduction thanks to Nike’s lightweight technology. We’ve seen a few variations of the HWC PE colorway, but this tonal-orange joint is unlike the others we’ve seen. This rare hybrid PE was spotted at yesterday’s Sneakerfriends Atlanta, likely belonging to Mayor of the ATF Crew. Continue reading for another look and let us know what you think of the Air Max LeBron VII Hyperfuse. via UGSoles.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII x Air Penny 1 ‘Heroes Pack’ | Available on eBay

nike air max lebron vii penny heroes pack available on ebay 01 Nike Air Max LeBron VII x Air Penny 1 Heroes Pack | Available on eBay

Before some observers started referring to LeBron James as “the next (or a bigger) Magic Johnson”, the last successor to Earvin’s point forward throne was Anfernee ‘Penny’ Hardaway.  At his peak, Penny was an All-NBA superstar with a signature sneaker line few could match, and he remains one of LeBron James’ heroes.  So it was natural to see the Nike Air Max LeBron VII ‘Heroes Pack’ integrate a nod to Hardaway, though somewhat shocking that this perfectly executed takeoff didn’t release.  Modeled after the Air Penny 1, this AML7 was slated to hit along with the also-nixed Deion Sanders and Michael Jordan-inspired pairs, but their absence means the US size 10.5 currently available from hyperstrike_718 earns some major points for scarcity.  Click through to see some more angles and let us know if you’re gonna place a bid on this auction from hyperstrike_718 on eBay.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII – ‘All Black Everything’ | Available on eBay

nike lebron vii all black everything ebay summary Nike Air Max LeBron VII All Black Everything | Available on eBay

LeBron James’ friendship with Jay-Z has been well documented to the point where some guessed that LeBron would end up with the New Jersey Nets – a franchise that Jay-Z himself is a part-owner of. Turns out LeBron had closer friends down in Miami, as he stuck close with his NBA pals and signed with Miami. But before that overblown offseason fiasco, a special pair of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII was made with HOV in mind – an ‘All Black Everything‘ motif with special insoles detailing the career achievements of James and Carter. Grammy awards, platinum albums, MVPs, scoring titles, Gold medals, the ‘hottest chick in the game wearing [his] chain’, both moguls of hip-hop and basketball have done quite well for themselves over the years. The ‘All Black Everything’ might be one of the rarest Air Max LeBron VIIs ever created, and this lone deadstock pair just happened to become available. These are a definite must-have for any LeBron collector and a must-look for any LeBron and Jay-Z fan, so take a low at the images below and check out the going price of this rare pair auction from perff1 on eBay.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII ‘Space Jam’ by MizzeeCustoms

nike air max lebron vii space jam by mizzeecustoms Nike Air Max LeBron VII Space Jam by MizzeeCustoms

With its sweeping mudguard design, most of which appeared in patent leather, the Nike Air Max LeBron VII drew inevitable comparisons to the Air Jordan XI.  The resemblance was strong enough that an AML7 x AJ11 was created as part of the Heroes Pack, and in fact there were two different Bred editions we’ve seen in photos.  One of those had a white leather Swoosh while the other merely used a red outline on the NFW woven side panels, so with MizzeeCustoms‘ Air Max LeBron VII ‘Space Jam’ we’ve got all the bases covered.  These use the outline-Swoosh look that’s far more natural with a Flywire-equipped pair and while the colorway is definitely ‘Space Jam’, Mizzee chose to keep the mudguard in its natural satiny shade for a unique final product.  Click through to see more and let us know how these compare to his previous work and the entire library of Air Max LeBron VII colorways.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low ‘Summit Lake Hornets’ – New Images

nike air max lebron vii summit lake hornets new images 02 Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low Summit Lake Hornets New Images

A couple weeks ago we got a look at a teal and purple Nike Air Max LeBron VII Low that could have very easily passed as a Hornets colorway.  It was only a few weeks before that when DJ Clark Kent gave the world our first look at the LeBron 8 V2 in the Summit Lake Hornets palette, and DJCK is offering another look-but-don’t-touch.  Here’s a pile of AML7 Lows in a home look for LeBron’s AAU squad, a colorway that would have been absolutely perfect had it released this past summer.  The sole looks great in translucent teal and leaves us hoping some version of the LeBron VIII gets this treatment.  Click through to see more and let us know how these compare to Summit Lake releases gone by.
