The original, blue and white colorway of the Nike Air Max 1 is one that needs to be ticked off every time a new mutation of that shoe comes along. And so, like the Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse before it, the Nike Air Max Lunar 1 has gone and adopted that blue and white combo in this women’s colorway. The exact shade of blue used still seems to be up in the air: Sneaker Politics calls them “Game Royal” but then go on to list them as “Photo Blue” as well. See if you can figure it out by flipping through the photos below and tell us in the comments if you’re feeling them.

The Nike Air Max 1 was doing prints and patterns long before the Jacquard build ever showed up. But, that new take on these Tinker classics has definitely introduced some new sorts of graphics to the shoes. Most of them have had this sort of speedy look to them, which has an almost anime-like action line feel to it. Of course that isn’t the only tweak made to the model – there’s also the Lunar kit that shows up on bottom. Get a load of this new Air Max pair below and tell us in the comments if you like what you see.

nike air max lunar1 white grey blue og Nike Reinvents a Classic with the Air Max Lunar1

In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 changed the history of performance running sneakers by giving you a peek inside how the sneaker was made thanks to a visible air unit placed on the back heel. This need for inovation initially championed by Tinker Hatfield has stuck with Nike throughout its dominance over the past two decades and has given us tech advancements ranging from Free to Flyknit all the way to Lunarlon midsoles. The latest reinvention takes their flagship runner in the Air Max 1 and gives it a twist thanks to a lightweight lunar midsole while keeping the air max unit intact. The upper gets redesigned as well thanks to the ever-lightweight hyperfuse, mesh and tape to bring the classic silhouette up to speed with the times. The new edition of the Nike Air Max 1 will hit select Nike outlets starting today, June 27th. Stick around after the click and let us know what you think of the re-revolutionized iteration of the Nike Air Max Lunar1 by penning your thoughts in the comments section.

Volt isn’t a shade that’s been historically too tied to the Nike Air Max 1. When that shoe made its debut back in 1987, the red and blue sections utilized were bright enough to turn heads and change the way we thought about color for running shoes. Fast forward to 2014 and the highlighter volt shade from the Swoosh is doing that all over again. And so, the two have been united for the Nike Air Max Lunar1 shown here, which you can find today at Oneness – make sure you check the rest of the photos below before you purchase though.

The Nike Air Max styles of the Lunar persuasion have been pretty immune to any collaboration style releases. Then again, they showed up in the era of Nike Sportswear being a lot less interested in dishing out those sort of team ups as far as Air Maxes are concerned. Sticking on that staunch inline route is the Nike Air Max Lunar1 here, a sneaker that further spices up the Lunar cushioning with a speckled overlay. Nike Air Max 1 Lunar “OG Sport Red”

The Nike Air Max Lunar 1 was bound to happen soon or later. What may have thrown you off though was the sneaker arriving with not only a rearrange tooling, but also a reworked upper that further futurizes the build. That Lunar cushioning on bottom is a bit different than the setup we’ve seen elsewhere on NSW shoes in that the whole bellows look is collapsed so that there’s only one fold in the materials. See another quick angle on these Nike Lunars after the break and watch for a wider release in July.
