The 2014 return of the Nike Air Max Triax ’94 is one that’s been reasonably colorful. The brightest of them all was that Infrared pair, but there have been plenty other pairs that slide some popping tones into the accents. This new pair ignores all of that by pairing cool grey with wolf grey, black, and white to satisfy those who need sneakers that are a bit tamer. Are you one of them? Tell us in the comments after you see the rest of the photos for this recent Air Max retro and watch for more info on this silhouette right here at Sneaker News.

Tonight, we introduce our new Sneaker News NINE@NINE segment, and what better topic to kick off with than the ongoing Air Max celebration. With March 26th marking the 27th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 1, Nike will commemorate the birth of Max Air tomorrow with a special Volt-midsoled release. In preparation for ‘Air Max Day’, Nike took us back to 1987 and gave a bit of a history lesson with all the major pairs from Tinker Hatfield’s first golden era running designs all the way up through the recently introduced Flyknit Air Max.

That list certainly touched on most of the biggest releases from Nike’s flagship running series, but hardcore sneakerheads would immediately see a compilation like that as an opportunity to think back on some of the more obscure pairs as well. So that’s our goal here – to go back over the timeline and fill in some of the less common pairs that represent fresh retro opportunities we’d love to see return alongside the recurring cornerstones.

Another of the more obscure ‘numbered’ Max Air running classics returns for its 20th anniversary in 2014, as the Nike Air Max Triax 94 gets its first retro run. Nike Sportswear is kicking things off as they often do with an original colorway preceding the debut of several new styles, which will thrill fans of this OG 1994 white, black and teal edition with the yellow ‘AIRMAX’ logo. With this model, you see the progression from the earlier Maxes and how the line will progress into increasingly technical designs. This one is still firmly in that traditional leather and mesh era, so check out its timeless charm in more photos below, then grab yours a bit earlier than most now that they’re out at SNKRS.
