Nike Sportswear will bring back the awesome quartet of Nike Basketball sneakers truncated by four-year gaps in the Air Force 180, Air More Uptempo, Shox BB4, and Huarache 2k4. So the question is: do you prefer the ‘Olympic’ theme, or this sleek Black/Volt composition? Next weekend, the Olympics will hit stores first, but just two weeks later, catch the Volt Pack as the three earlier models hit Nike Basketball retailers on July 15th (the Uptempo is looking like a House of Hoops exclusive). We’ll keep you updated regarding that information as it develops (as well as the release info on the Huarache 2k4) so let us know which of the group you like best!

Sports fans all around the world have a lot occupying their minds at the moment. The Euro Cup is going down across the Atlantic and over here we’ve got quite the battle brewing in the 2012 NBA Finals. The festivities get going on July 27th but Nike is apparently celebrating early, dropping the majority of the styles from their ‘Dream Team’ pack on Sunday, July 1st. On that sort of strange release date the Nike Air Force 180, Nike Air More Uptempo, and the Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2k4 all bearing the USA colors will drop (with the Nike Shox BB4 arriving a few days later on the 7th). Yes, the Olympic stage has long been one where companies are eager to show off their new advances in footwear technology, but we’ve gotta say that for 2012 it’s the old rather than the new that really has our attention. Amongst the “Dream Team” designated sneakers, all of which have played a part in the Summer Games at one point or another in their long history, is this Pippen pair from ’96 that takes “Max” up a level to “More”, famously striping the namesake technology across the side of the shoe. Click through for the latest angles of this USA favorite and pick up the Nike Air More Uptempo “Dream Team” on preorder now from Titolo.

The upcoming Nike Sportswear ‘Dream Team’ Collection is certainly the most fitting name for this set of sneaker releases, isn’t it? Aside from the direct reference to the 1992 Dream Team that took home the Gold medal in domination fashion, these four releases offer up the opportunity to cop some sneakers that we haven’t seen in a long while. The Nike Air Force 180 ‘Olympic’ returns once again, as does the Nike Air More Uptempo, that dropped in 2010 as a House of Hoops exclusive. Joining the two 90′s models is the Nike Shox BB4, made famous by Vince Carter’s complete demoralization of Frederic Weis and entire French National Team, and the Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4, that debuted during the ’04 Olympic year. We’ve got another look at the upcoming Nike Sportswear ‘Dream Team’ Collection after the jump so take a look and stick with Sneaker News for more release information as it develops.

Team USA will lace up this August to defend their 2008 Gold Medal during the Summer Olympic Games in London, and if they keep the historic 1992 Dream Team in focus, they’ll have no difficulty in returning the prized Gold to U.S. soil. While the 1992 squad is best recognized as the ‘Dream Team’, there’s no doubt that the United States sends the most talented bunch of basketball players every four years, and the upcoming 2012 team has the high expectations of reaching or surpassing the record-setting success of the ’92 team that boasted names likes Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird.
To celebrate the ‘dream’ heritage of USAB, Nike Sportswear unveils the Nike Sporstwear ‘Dream Team’ Collection, which features five of the most memorable Nike Basketball selections of the past games and a special edition Nike Destroyer Jacket that pays tribute to the 20th Anniversary of the original Dream Team. Included in this pack (previously featured on Sneaker News) is the Nike Air Force 180 (Charles Barkley), Nike Air More Uptempo (Scottie Pippen), the Nike Shox BB4 (Vince Carter), and the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 as well as a Nike Air Force 1 High. During his time in the NBA, Sir Charles was a man who demanded attention both and off the court. His forceful style and in-your-face personality made him a superstar, a wave he’s still riding today with his various commentating gigs. Of course also essential to his style was the sneakers, as he locked down a few signatures for himself as one of Nike Basketball’s frontrunners in the 90′s, repping the Swoosh to no end as in the Reebok jacket controversy of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Complex has compiled a gallery of Charles Barkley sneaker shots for your view pleasure, a timeline that starts out with him rocking Converse basketball models before he made the transition to Nike’s Force series and his own signature sneaks like the Nike Air Max CB 34 later on. The tail end of the selection even includes some middle-era Jordan Brand heat, with the Mound Round of Rebound rocking the Air Jordan XIV and the ‘Cool Grey’ Jordan XI. Get a sample of the heat after the jump and hit up Complex for the full feature.
