Ever thought you’d really like to rock a pair of Nike Air Pegasus ’92s, but wondered what it might look like if the classic design were adapted to a sleeker, casually-oriented design?  Look no further than the first two of what looks to be several Air Pegasus ’92 ‘Decon’ Quickstrikes.  These have been slimmed down at the rear but still bear the signature ribbed lateral badges, but grey/black/white and black/white releases with a color pop on their outsoles are intstantly among this model’s most wardrobe friendly.  The ACG-esque colorways remain to be seen along with a couple more suede drops, but those will probably come and go quickly just like these new drops at Extra Butter.

About three weeks ago, Sneaker News showed you what to expect from the near future with regard to the Nike Air Pegasus ’92.  The Mowabb-style colorway showed up again on Monday as we introduced the Air Pegasus ’92 Decon Quickstrike pack that also included an equally bold Yellow Ochre colorup.  That one wasn’t pictured in our October preview, but the other two pairs that were are now being joined by two brand new suede designs and all issued in QS form starting Saturday, November 12th atNike Harajuku.  Six brand new ’92 Pegs is a welcome suprise that sees some extra collectability added to one of the great if overshadowed early ’90s runners, but even with all these solid new releases, we can’t help but wonder what happened to the brown pair with purple and copper accents from that preview article.  Stick with Sneaker News and keep your eyes peeled for updates, but in the meantime, click through to see all six pairs of Deconstructed Pegasus 92s and let us know which one looks the best.

Nike Air Pegasus ’92 Decon Quickstrike

Nike Sportswear is known for celebrating significant anniversaries with special releases but here’s a case when it looks like they simply couldn’t wait to get the party started. It’s the big 2-0 for the Nike Air Pegasus ’92 next year, but why wait when these new Decon Quickstrikes are ready for you right now. Especially when their limited numbers mean these two new deconstructed Air Pegasus ’92s will be gone faster than you can claim your spot as ‘King of the Mountain’. The Mowabb colorway is an obvious tribute to one of the Peg 92′s peers while a Yellow Ochre edition looks the part of an early ’90s Nike All Conditions Gear release thanks to its Neo Turquoise and bright pink accents. Check out both pairs in greater detail after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date. via Kix-Files

Nike Air Pegasus ’92 – Upcoming Colorways

nike air pegasus 92 upcoming colorways Nike Air Pegasus 92 Upcoming Colorways

Earlier this morning, Sneaker News showed you how Nike Sportswear is bringing together over a decade and a half of Tailwind series runners for their new hybrid design, but here’s one that remains unchanged a full twenty years after its debut.  The latest round of Nike Air Pegasus ’92s has a slightly anachronistic vibe about it not because two of the four pairs bear the colors of classic Air Mowabb ACG releases from around the same time, but because back in the day, the Swoosh didn’t typically spread these colorways across different silhouettes like pretty much every brand does in modern times with ‘pack’ releases.  With that in mind, maybe this is just the ‘fire pack’, because each pair including the two tonal grey leather joints, all have that look that’ll have classic running fans making these hard to find.  Check out some more images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates.  via SF

nike air pegasus 92 grey suede red black white 01 Nike Air Pegasus 92 White Red Black | Holiday 2011

Much like the offense of the Virginia Tech Hokies whose uniforms served as a vague basis for the most recent colorway, we haven’t seen much happening with the Nike Air Pegasus ’92 since that Summit White and Bold Berry edition dropped in July.  Perhaps it was worth the wait, because now we have word that slated for the holiday season is one of the best Pegs we’ve seen all year.  This new design utilizes a nappy suede that enhances the vintage look without succumbing to preyellowed laces or midsoles.  And as we approach this model’s 20th birthday, we’re reminded of all the dope early ’90s Nikes that should soon get special anniversary treatment.  Exciting times are soon to come, sneaker friends, and you can get a glimpse into one of Nike Sportswear’s seasons greetings when you click on the jump below.

When you consider Nike running’s golden age in and around the early ’90s, classic colorways like ‘Infrared’ and ‘Ultra Marine’ come to mind as shining examples of the design conventions of that time.  Both featured white bases as was something of a default at the time, and though it wasn’t around at the time, the above pictured Nike Air Pegasus ’92 seems like it would have been a natural fit alongside those classics.  This model adds Bold Berry and bright orange accents to the mostly white base whose grey and black sections around the heel serve to add some balance to the busiest part of the design.  Click through to see more angles and pick up yours at a Nike Sportswear retailer like Premier.

Even beyond his own impressively wide range of collaborations, Kanye West has proven to have a diverse taste in sneakers.  Fitting, then, that two of the artists signed to his G.O.O.D. Music label were on hand at a recent event with sneaker choices about as far apart as you could get for two white/red kicks.  On one hand you have rap veteran Pusha T who seems to have found salvation for his soles in the form of the Nike Air Pegasus ’92 in Sail and Crimson, while on the other you have newcomer Cyhi Da Prynce rocking the Air Jordan XIII ‘Bulls’.  Click through for a closer view of their kicks from the Heineken Red Star Access event and let us know what you think of their red green carpet choices.
