Sneaker News just brought you word of Michael Vick’s new contract with Nike and while the potential Zoom Vick V (or whatever it will be called) is still a ways off, here’s a look to satisfy all the Virginia Tech Hokies fans out there. This Nike Air Pegasus ’92 comes in a standout colorway reminiscent of VaTech’s unique uniforms, and you’ve got to hand it to the guys at Nike Sportswear because this color combo also manages to appear like one of their early ’90s OGs despite the fact we know it’s brand new. When you talk about early ’90s running shoes, the bold and energetic colorways stand out as much as the silhouettes themselves. Nike in particular is known to have proffered a wide variety of vibrant colorways (many of which are wildly popular to this day), but this new Nike Air Pegasus ’92 is still among the most unique we’ve seen, in that era or any other. They’re 75% white, but there’s some explosive action in that last quarter, where a black heel counter gives new life to orange and maroon accents, resulting in one of the more curious novel combinations we’ve seen in recent memory. When it comes to Nike Sportswear retro runners, they come no OG-er than these. Check out these two upcoming Nike Air Pegasus ’92 releases, a duo whose colorways alone are enough to signal an early ’90s revival. Pairs in white/black/Infrared and beige/blue/orange each have their own way of hearkening back to the golden age, but it’s the dual-density foam soles and distinct angular lines that unite them. To this point, we’ve seen more from the Pegasus 89 so these are a welcome addition to the NSW rotation and should be hitting select retailers soon, with Hanon currently taking pre-orders for a late April ship date.

With all the talk of Nike Sportswear’s V-Series retros and the performance-oriented updates, you might have forgotten this classic Swoosh runner was on the way. But thank goodness NSW stayed the course and brought us this new Nike Air Pegasus ’92, a beautiful look back at how Nike running has matured over the past eighteen-plus years.
