We’re well past the halfway point of the 2013 Major League Baseball season.  The Midsummer Classic is nearly two weeks in the rear view, but Nike Sportswear has some ‘NYC Baseball’-themed kicks ready to go, drawing inspiration from the All Star Game at Queens’ Citi Field.  These shoes linked to old school sluggers skip on the Mets look and draw upon Flushing Meadows – Corona Park’s Unisphere earth sculpture, echoing the build with grid detailing and a steely colorway.  Let us know whether it’s Bo Jackson’s Nike Air Trainer SC High or Junior’s Air Griffey Max 1 that catches your eye in more photos below, then be ready when the ‘MLB All-Star Pack’ drops tomorrow at NSW retailers like Renarts.

nike air trainer sc high mlb all star summary Nike Air Trainer SC High MLB All Star

The MLB All-Star game is an event that doesn’t get quite as many associated sneakers as say, the NBA All-Star, but it’s usually celebrated by footwear companies to some extent. This upcoming one will be accompanied by this, a special Nike Air Trainer SC High colorway that gets an “NYC” logo across the tongue that makes note of the game’s locale this year along with a slick, icy soled treatment. Take a full look at the Nike Air Trainer SC High “MLB All-Star” after the jump and watch for the sneakers to release this Saturday, July 13th at 21 Mercer.

nike air vintage pack Nike Air Vintage Pack Release Date

Adding to the huge number of sneakers releasing on the extended holiday weekend is this, the Nike Air Vintage Pack. The group is a bit of a strange one, pairing two Bo Jackson classics in the Nike Air Trainer SC High and the Nike Air Trainer SC II High with the Nike Air Revolution, a shoe of a bit older persuasion that definitely doesn’t have anything to do with the cross-training category. Continue reading for a group shot of the three pairs and watch for them to release this Saturday, July 6th, at Nike Sportswear accounts.

Having just seen the SC II follow the Air Revolution in releasing its VNTG colorway at more Nike Sportswear retailers, you had to expect this one to follow.  The second classic cross trainer connected to Bo Jackson carries his school colors, as the Nike Air Trainer SC High ‘Auburn’ comes back in the Auburn Tigers colorway that released back in February in non-VNTG form.  These don’t carry the pre-yellowed midsole we’ve come to associate with NSW Vintage drops, but there’s a classically styled inner tongue tag that completes the old school vibes.  Check out more images after the jump and get ready for these to arrive this Saturday, June 29th at select retailers including Foot Patrol.

Nike Air VNTG QS Pack

nike air vntg pack qs summary Nike Air VNTG QS Pack

We knew the Nike Air Revolution was returning in 2013 and now here’s the release info for the first drop.  The Air Revolution reaches back to its 1988 OG ‘Tech Grey’ makeup, and while the VNTG treatment with subtly pre-yellowed midsoles is as unexpected as the colorway, it’s the two packmates that make this most intriguing.  They don’t necessarily have the most direct ties to the Revolution, but the ’Auburn’ Air Trainer SC High and ‘Citron’ SC II are themselves known as Bo Jackson signatures (and both available fairly recently).  One classic basketballer and two cross-training pillars come together with light antique touches this Friday, June 14th, so stick with Sneaker News to see if the trio hits shops in addition to Overkill.
